He doesn’t have an attitude and bedside manner of a Dr, solely passed the medical school without any knowledge as how to deal with people.

This morning I had an appointment with Dr. Michael M Vesali (sleep neurologist). He was the worst Dr. I have ever been to. Inattentive, dismissive, kept asking the same questions after he had just asked them as if he hadn't been listening. He kept rambling on about aging and the benefits of meditation. He was very much checked out. (All of Dr. Vesali's online reviews are AWFUL. I don't understand why some people become Dr.s)

I was transferred by my good neurolgist to Dr Vesali. I was in SEVERE pain and all he would say is if you get more sleep you won't hurt. I would reply that if I wasn't in such severe pain I would love to sleep. After about 2 months I decided I needed another neurologist that I waited 4 months for. He immediately gave me relief and I am sleeping. On a scale of 1-10 I was way past 10. I was suicidal so Vesali sent the police to make sure I was alive....but he wouldn't give me pain relief. He said I was anxious and needed a social worker. I replied that I was already seeing a therapist. She also thought he was nuts too. I am now on special form of gabapentin and the wonderful new Dr is going to try an experimental non medication form of treatment that I am anxious to use. My pain level never gets above 5 now. Dr Vesali is the one that needs a therapist, Saint Lukes and Neurology practice need to realize how he is treating patients. I've read other reviews saying the same things.

I have been seeing Dr. Vesali for almost 2 years. He has a subtle sense of humor, and is very direct and to the point. His goal is to help you with your diagnosis, but because sleep science is so complex, he has to ask 8 million questions to get to the root of the issue. My first visit I tried to rationalize my behaviors and problems. He bluntly told me, "No excuses. I can't help you if you don't listen and only make excuses. You have to promise to follow my recommendations for 3 months, and see what difference it makes. This won't go away overnight." He was right. He also referred me to another provider who could assist with my stress and anxiety. If you want someone to vent to, Dr. Vesali is not for you. If you want someone who can diagnose you and then guide you down the right path, he is wonderful. Be prepared to listen, and keep an open mind, and answer all the questions honestly without making excuses.

I read the reviews above but I found him to be kind, with a sly sense of humor and listening to my issues. I would recommend him, though I sure don't want to go through that test again!

I don't think he actually listened to any of our issues. No bedside manner, very little eye contact and abrupt. Sadly, this visit was pretty much a waste of our time.

Dr Vesali had very little bedside manner. He didn’t seem to have a good grasp of my issue nor did I feel confident in his ability to treat and diagnose me. Despite that I went ahead to complete a sleep study just to get it over with. It’s been over a month and after almost $400 with insurance, I still have not gotten results of my sleep study. Tried calling the office and his voicemail is disconnected. Would not recommend.

Dr. Vesali didn't really address other potential options for my ailment. He was very abrupt, not personable, didn't feel like he understood how i felt. Focused on things that didn't pertain to the reason I had the appt. My internist recommended. I won't go back and will look for another neurologist.

Very abrupt and doesn't make eye contact often. If anyone looks for personality and a good bedside manner, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Vesali. Felt interrogated and it was challenging to communicate my feelings, unfortunately I won't be back.
