Fast Service
Viau was in and out of the room- very few words. Follow up visits after the first visit were not encouraged. The follow up visit after surgery was six weeks later then no more. Very disappointing! Relative has had trouble since.

Pain Free
I have been seeing Dr. Viau for three years, originally for back pain and hip pain. We did steroid shots in my back which helped at first. When my hip began to hurt, we tried shots as well but they never took. In June of this year my back pain became unbearable, so Dr. Viau sent me for two MRI’s. When they came back, he said the sciatic nerve was being pinched and my hip was bone on bone, so basically “pick your poison.” I chose to have back surgery first, in July, and that went extremely well. He replaced my hip three weeks ago, and for the first time in three years, I am pain free! I noticed that some people commented negatively about his bedside manner, however, my experience has been that every time I have a question, he’s more than happy to pull up a chair and answer all my questions. His staff has always been nice, and the hospital care I received was great; they met all of my needs in a timely fashion, while being professional and caring at the same time.

Slow down
Bedside manner was extremely rushed, this is when things get missed. Would strongly encourage anyone that has received a consult from this physician to seek a second opinion ASAP.

It’s been on my mind , as I approach 60 years old, to connect with Dr Viau. I was just 27 when my L4/5 disc blew out. So bad, I was actually paralyzed! A young horse trainer, with a future! I was referred to Dr. Viau from one of my clients, Dr Ginsburg, the ER Dr. At Mansfield. That was 1986! So much fear. Pain. Suddenly, I was almost going to live in a wheelchair. I’ve made a career of horse training. I’m running my horse farm in NC still today! A big THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY BACK!!????
