Dismissive of concerns related to pain management when doing invasive exams

I was referred to Dr. Hugun by my primary care provider. We started with a telehealth visit where she explained my recent ultrasound results and recommended an endometrial biopsy. She explained the procedure and my options. I elected to have the procedure done in clinic. When I had my clinic appointment she explained again my options and confirmed I would like to proceed with the procedure. She showed me the instruments she would be using and gave me options to make it more comfortable. Although I had never had a procedure like this before, she told me what she was doing as it happened and it was not bad at all. Soon it was over and she gave me a timeline of when to expect results and options for how I prefer for her to contact me with the results. She answered all questions and provided my results in a timely manner. I feel fortunate that we have such quality female physicians available at VA Palo Alto Health Care System Women’s Health Clinic.

I recently had a procedure done and my experience was wonderful. As this was my first evasive procedure, I was quite anxious about it. During my pre-op appointment with Dr. Hugin, she answered patiently & graciously every question I had and explained clearly what to expect on the day of the procedure. On the day of the procedure, she made sure I had no question or concern unanswered before proceeding with the plan. Once I was out of surgery, she explained to me what was done and what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call the following morning to check up on me, though she has previously told me that she doesn't do routine follow up due to the procedure being a simple one. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Hugin to anyone who would need excellent GYN services. My husband and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Friendly but professional. She stays calm and cool, explains everything well and listens to you. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. Michele Hugin, did a great job with my first exam, which was short and sweet. She explained everything to me in advance and solve my health problem as a piece of cake. A physician assistant and staff were great, helpful, patient, and very helpful with me. They worked with me to had a smooth process, and follow up. I really appreciate Dr. Hugin for a possible appointment on the same day, scheduled me to get a mammogram exam done and follow up with me for further treatment. Also, she was a friendly person to talk with. I really recommend VA Palo Alto Woman Veterans Health to all veterans and friends.

Dr. Hugin is a good listener and she has a calming type presence about her. She knew exactly how to help me. I am grateful for her help.

My name is April. I seen Dr. Hugin for a DanE. She was very kind, knowledgeable, and caring. She explained EVERYTHING to me and took her time. Never did I feel like she was rushing to the next patient or not completely present while with me. I felt she truly cared as if we knew each other. My surgery went great with NO complications. I would HIGHLY recommend her!
