Most unpleasant experience with a doctor—apparently she just wasn’t very interested

Dr. Murphy Cook and her awesome staff performed my heart ablation to treat afib. Dr. Murphy was very knowledgeable and experienced, and this was apparent throughout my treatment consultation and ablation process. The Kootenai Heart Clinic staff were caring and courteous the entire time. And, my recovery nurses were not only skilled and experienced, but considerate and caring. I give particular thanks to the post op nurse Chrystal, who was a shining example of what compassionate care is about. In my opinion our community is fortunate to have such a great heart clinic and team in a small region such as Kootenai county.

Dr Murphy-Cook impressed me with her thoroughness & attention to detail. This was a second opinion. She took time before our appointment to thoroughly review my echocardiogram results & physician notes. She picked up on things from the echocardiogram which had been either overlooked or thought unimportant by my other primary cardiologist. I think a leaky valve is important & it wasn’t noted by my primary cardiologist but Dr Murphy-Cook definitely picked up on it by thoroughly reviewing my echocardiogram . She was able to answer all my questions and concerns, some of which were brushed aside by my primary cardiologist. She identified some alternative courses of treatment that had not been addressed by my primary cardiologist. I believe that Dr Murphy-Cook took the time to listen and she gave me a much more complete comprehensive understanding of my condition, the alternative courses of action that were available, the pros and cons of each. I highly recommend Dr. Murphy-Cook
