Helpful and Diligent
I've gone to Dr. Berger for 30 years and have always been satisfied. I have a family history of glaucoma and was severely nearsighted. She always took time to make sure I had the right lenses for the kind of work I did -- even coming up with a combination of contact lenses to play cards. She made a great recommendation when it was time for my cataract surgery. Always prompt and effeceint during appointments.

Unprofessional behavior
We had 3 generations going to Dr. Berger, but during Covid she bullied my 76 year old mom. Dr. Berger pulled on her mask. She lectured her about mask being pointless and continued to follow her to check out giving her a hard time about wearing a mask. My mom had being to her for years. Our whole family left her practice.

Really unpleasant experience
I try not to write negative reviews- but this warrants it. Dr. Berger has off-the-wall political views- which is fine-everyone is entitled to their opinions. But she spent the entire appointment proselytizing and insulting people who disagree. I am very non-confrontational so I nodded and smiled. But she came across as condescending and uncaring. She didn't ask questions about my health or focus on my exam. It was an all around unpleasant experience.

This happened years ago but it is still a thorn in my side. Dr. Berger refuses to be accountable for her poorly informed office staff. It is her practice therefore her responsibility to make sure staff are trained correctly. Before I made my appointment I confirmed that they took my insurance, then again in person when I arrived for my visit after filling out all paperwork, etc. They even made a copy of my insurance card. Much later when I received a bill from them saying my insurance did not cover the visit I called and they told me they don't accept EPO's, only PPO's. 'EPO' was printed in large letters right on my insurance card, not to mention they had every facet of my insurance coverage details on hand. She then harassed me for full payment for six months! She refused my offer of paying half of the $100 charge, then proceeded to put me into collections, which reduced my over 800 excellent credit score to 711 for several years!

Dr. Michelle Berger was very professional and addressed all of my questions during our session. She is also the most pleasant doctor I have met in all my years. Be sure to give her a visit!

My parents have been going to Dr. Berger for about 8 years and have been happy with her. My complaint was how billing on a recent visit was handled. Evidently there is now an additional fee if paying by credit card. This wasn't communicated before or at the appointment. It was discovered afterwards when their receipt was mailed to them. And, both Mom and Dad had appointments back to back on the same day. Their credit card was run through twice, so 2 credit card fees were charged. Rather than running the credit card once with a total for the 2 appointments, and then only charging one credit card fee. Not happy how that was handled.
