Dr. Michelle Szwedo, MD

This was my first time visiting her for a gyno appointment. I was looking for a new doctor, and I scheduled with Dr. Szwedo. It was a simple visit, looking for birth control that could make my symptoms more consistent. She didn't seem to think that was an acceptable request, seeing as I needed to specify which symptom I wanted fixed. I think inconsistency is a pretty major problem- one that makes all menstration symptoms rather hard to pinpoint since it's- NOT consistent-. She then listed every birth control under the sun, didn't explain how they would manage my symptoms, didn't tell me the effectiveness for preventing pregnancy, and didn't explain any possible side effects it could cause. I've been to one other Gyno, and she worked with me to find what seemed best for me at the time. Dr. Szwedo did not do any of that. She also left abruptly after the appointment and seemed annoyed to help direct me to the exit.Very rude, unprofessional and didn't listen to my concerns.

It’s been about a year since I saw this doctor but the experience I had with her sticks with me and feel that it needs to be shared. I’m very sensitive to pelvic exams and generally they are pretty uncomfortable for me. My doctors always show some compassion and are very gentle with me. Dr. Szwedo was quite the opposite. She was very rough and basically manhandled me during the exam. I won’t get into graphic detail but I left in pain and felt very uncomfortable with how I was treated. It was traumatizing and no female should ever have to feel like that after a pelvic exam. I’ve since moved on and found a new doctor and will never go back to her.

I made sure that I was the first appointment of the day at 8am so I could make it to work on time. She was late, walked in at 8:17am and I was back in MY CAR at 8:24am. She never introduced herself, quickly started checking my lungs WHEN I WAS TALKING and asking her questions. She gaslight me and made me feel like my questions were stupid, now I'm wishing I pushed back on some of them because I need answers. She actually checked inside of me for about 1 second, maybe she looked, maybe she didn't. It was so fast it felt completely pointless. Then, when I went to pick up my birth control she prescribed me a DIFFERENT pill. We never spoke about a different pill and I was satisfied with the pill I was on for ~7 years. I messaged her through the DMG portal and a nurse responded, I said I'd like to speak with Michelle and would like the pill I was on prior sent to my pharmacy. She never responded. This was 3 weeks ago. She is the worst GYNO I've ever seen, I will never schedule her again.

I've gone to Dr. Szwedo for years and feel comfortable and confident in her care.

I cant tell you how much we love dr Szwedo. She is knowledgeable and caring and very helpful during myhigh risk pregnancy.

I was a new patient with Dr. Szwedo and wish I would've gone to anyone but her. Absolutely no bedside manner and no compassion for her patients. I waited over and hour for my appointment. When she did finally come into the room she didn't even take the time to introduce herself. Instead I got an, "ok what's going on". I explained my reason for the visit and my concerns and they were almost immediately dismissed. She spoke as she was doing my annual exam (didn't even tell me what she was going to do before doing it). She advised I schedule an appointment with my primary, even though the concerns I have should strictly be discussed with an OBGYN. I will never return to this location and will be finding a different doctor.

I have had Dr. Szwedo as my gynecologist for years and I just love her! I could not be happier with a doctor. She is professional, listens to my issues and provides me with information and solutions. Dr. Szwedo is also kind and gentle which makes the visits so much easier. She has seen me through pre-menopause, menopause, and now I am well into my 60s. I would highly recommend her.

I came in for pelvic pain. She asked no questions and had no suggestions, and seemed generally ignorant about pain during pregnancy. I had to lead the appointment. I’m sure it seemed like I was crying because I was in pain, which I was, but mostly I was furious that I’d wasted my time and energy.

Dr. Szwedo is very trustworthy and was a huge help during my high risk pregnancy. If you express a concern she will talk you through it. I trust her judgement and opinion. Otherwise a visit is a quick trip, which is nice when dealing with annuals.

I waited for an hour on the table to see her for an annual exam and other issues I was concerned about and she gave me the bum's rush. She had no compassion for what I was going through, rushed exam, didn't explain anything to me thoroughly and I'm afraid she didn't even fully address my issues and I'm worried about it now and will probably have to see another doctor who will take the time to listen to my concerns and give me a complete exam. Very bad experience. Would NOT recommend her!
