Dr. Miguel Salazar Jr, MD

I was referred to Dr. Salazar by my primary cardiologist. I was having dizzy spells, and my heart monitor showed pauses in beats. Dr. Salazar came in and didn’t introduce himself, sat down and immediately told me I need a pacemaker and that there is no other option. I’m in my 20s for reference. He did not recommend any further testing, just pushed me to get the pacemaker. I got a second opinion, where I was told that is more than likely false and the diagnosis is extremely rare for someone my age. I spent maybe 5 minutes total in the office with Dr. Salazar, 3 of which were him attempting to convince me to get a pacemaker that’s not even available in the US, that he would “make it” here. And if he “made it” here, it would cause arguments with other doctors telling me that the device is in the atrium when it’s really in the ventricles. I’m no doctor, but the atrium and ventricles are not the same place or thing. I genuinely believe he took advantage of my age and being alone. Dangerous.

Dr. Salazar is a very caring Doctor, he makes a patient feel at ease, while he explains clearly the matters. He truly listens and suggests the best solution. Sadly his stuff is not as nice, they don't follow up as they say they would and they tend to be dismissive. I try to ignore them. In the end I want to see the Doctor.

My family is very grateful to Dr. Salazar. We brought our teenage daughter to him for a second opinion regarding episodes of heart arrhythmia. He was the third cardiologist and the second Electrophysiologist we took her to. He gave a thorough diagnosis and explanation of his recommended treatment-Catheter ablation, which he got her in for in just a couple of weeks and performed flawlessly at White Memorial Medical Center. She's doing well now. We are lucky to have found such a great physician!
