I had surgery performed on February the 17th 2023. I saw Dr a lot of people in his office about a month before surgery was scheduled. I did not see or talk to the doctor after the surgery and tell March of 2024. I had complications during my surgery. My lung collapsed, I had a punctured lung. The doctor never came to my room after surgery to talk to me about the complications. To this day when I saw him again in March he said he knew nothing about my complications. He did not discuss what all he had done to me during the surgery. I still don't know what all he did or if he fixed anything at all. I am very unhappy with his lack of concern and compassion for me and my complications. I was in rehab for 30 days. I had to go to the doctor after rehab he never was there I was talked to the PA. I asked her about what went on during my surgery. She told me that she wasn't there during the surgery that I needed to talk to the doctor. Every I went to every appointment he never was there it was always the pa. Finally after more than a year I demanded to talk to the doctor. And that was on the March the 2024 meeting. he denied that he knew anything about me having any complications. He wasn't aware that I had was in surgery pardon me that I was in recovery for 6 hours after the surgery. He said after all it's been over a year and I can't remember every patient I've seen in over a year. So if you're looking for a good competent surgeon I would tell you to run as far away from him as you can thank you

Uncommunicative, unresponsive
When I consulted Dr. Katzir, he offered only one treatment option - surgery. When he found out I was on blood thinners from stent surgery, he refused to do the surgery until I was off the blood thinners. No problem - I asked him to coordinate with my cardiologist, who's also at UNMC. Three weeks later, my cardiologist had not heard from him. I called Katzir's office and his techs told me they could only reach him by email. When I explained my frustration that he'd not contacted my cardiologist, the tech replied that wasn't unusual and that his staff had trouble getting Dr. Katzir to communicate with them, much less with physicians outside his office. With that, I lost confidence in Dr. Katzir's ability to function in an integrated care team and to have my best interests uppermost in his priorities. I fired him and sought care elsewhere.
