Dr. Mina Oza, MD

I have bi polar type one. Dr. Mina Oza reinforced that if I had an acute psychiatric condition, I could phone her but she would NOT be about to get back to me until the next office visit! That is, to Not expect a phone call back. I believe her job is to keep me OUT of the hospital. Also, she does not have admitting privileges to any local psychiatric hospital. I ended up with a 3 week admission to Ny Presbyterian. The situation was handled badly. Cornell University graduate with a master’s degree.

Visited many psychiatrist during 6 years with no results for my depression, anxiety and bipolarity conditions. Wonderful professional Dr.Mina Oza changed my life forever....thanks to her knowledge and assertive communication skills with sick people, in less than 2 months she found me the right prescription that still helping me to be almost completely functional. I improved my behavior, my sleep and communication skills very much. Miss you Dr Oza.

I feel she was decent in her care but not as investigative as necessary is certain diagnoses. She started on one medication and due to a common side effect, instead of trying a different one in its class, she diagnosed me with a massive diagnosis which led me down a road of many antipsychotics. Seeing another physician gave me a better understanding of what happened and he put me on a different medication which not only balanced me, but also left me with some emotions so that I was still me.
