Waste of time and $$
I found the doctor to be extremely rude. He kept cutting me off after asking me questions. Acted like I was wasting his time. This guy needs a serious class in bedside manner. I've never had a doctor be so dismissive and rude. Part of being a good doctor is listening to your patients. This guy doesn't. Run and find another Dr.

Will Not Be Back
Visit was for my wife, a complex medical situation. Went for abnormal labs. He was informative at first. Explained well. Not very personable, but we didn't care about that as long as he would help us. The reason I am marking down to 2 is because our follow up was met with lack of concern and being told that abnormal ANA and CRP were 'normal' (normal for who????) and was dismissive. I would have been more understanding if he had said 'I cannot help you.' So...not sure what happened at our follow up. But we will not be back.

I have read all the review about Dr Abdullah and 50% of them are VERY positive and 50% of them are EXTREMELY negative. I had a great visit with him for the first time several weeks ago. I am a well-educated woman with LOTS of medical problems besides Arthritis. I have lived in 5 different major cities, so my experience with doctors is very broad. I currently have 14 other doctors, all in different fields of care; so I think I am a good judge of character regarding all kinds of medical professionals. I am wondering if some of the patients who gave bad reviews of Dr. Abdullah do not have a lot of experience with doctors, or; are themselves a little negative, frustrated, out-of-sorts, or something else to have set Doctor Abdullah on edge. It’s usually a two-way street !!!

zero stars. Would never recommend anyone to him.
I found him to be rude, arrogant, condescending, patronizing and almost childlike in his defensiveness. When I asked a question I was told that if I didn't like the way he did things I should leave and find another Doctor. Best advice of the visit.

BEST DOCTOR EVER
Dr. Abdullah Takes his time going through my test results, asking me questions and listening to my answers. He is a medical detective going through every area making sure we have tested for everything and looking for areas of concern. His manner is thorough. He is soft spoken and makes good eye contact. I am confident I am in the best hands with Dr. Abdullah. I appreciate his time and attention very much. The office staff is very helpful and attentive. They are lovely to work with. I recommend this wonderful practice to you. You will be very pleased.

BEST DOCTOR EVER – Dec 01, 2023

Very Unhappy
My original rheumatologist moved so I tried this dr. At my first visit, after he explained his credentials, I asked him a question. His immediate response was to VERY LOUDLY and ANGRILY inform me that if I didn’t think he was a good doctor, there’s the door. Since there seemed to be a shortage of rheumatologists accepting new patients, I figured I was paying for his expertise and not his bedside manner so I chose to give him a chance. He ordered lots of blood work. The problem is I had to go to a specific lab only, regardless of its inconvenience. I couldn’t go to my regular lab, where my insurance covered most lab work. It was very expensive. He doesn’t accept any lab work from anyplace else. I find that very questionable. He did not explain things well and I’m happy to say I’ve found a better rheumatologist elsewhere.

Dr. Abdullah turned me away when I needed help the most. I pleaded with him to help me, and I was turned away. Dr. Abdullah has never returned my calls. Whenever I would call to ask him a question, or called needing help with something, only the office manager would call back; not the doctor, and not a nurse. I do not recommend going to see this doctor. You will be very disappointed, only to have to find another Rheumatologist and wait months and months for an appointment. I pray that no one has to go through what I have been through at Knoxville Rheumatology.

I was recently seen by Dr. Abdullah for RA that had been undiagnosed for years. After one visit he confirmed my RA. After spending almost 45 minutes with me to understand my prior history and to clarify any questions I had. i left knowing I was in good hands. The office staff was extremely friendly. The sweet girl up front was great at scheduling my appointment and even called the day before to remind me of my appointment. Nikki the nurse was very thorough with my health history. She was very friendly and helpful. She walked me through a medication I was going to start and told me to call her If I had any questions. Well I did. When I called later that afternoon, she answered the phone!!! I did not have to leave a message and wait 24-48 hours for a call back. She was very kind in answering all my questions. This is a nurse and doctor that truly love what they do. As a patient I could only wish this office could show other offices this standard of excellence.

I have been to Dr. Abdullah 4 times now. Every visit he has taken the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. My first visit lasted well over 45 minutes and he never rushed me. I try to read up on my condition and be informed when I visit. Dr. Abdullah actually seems to appreciate that fact and never talks in a condescending manner. Some doctors actually seem to feel threatened if you go in with some knowledge about your condition especially if it came from the internet. He has even taken the time to answer questions about some lab test results that do not particularly have any bearing on the reason for my visit. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing to see a Rheumatologist.

Went with my wife for her appt I've NEVER met a Dr so arrogant and dismissive in my life. He asked her questions and would cut her off after three words, multiple times. Outright refused to run literally any diagnostic test because her "joints aren't red" at that exact moment and therefore it was impossible she had any rheumatological condition whatsoever. I wish I was joking or exaggerating. But those are basically his exact words. Eventually I spoke up because of his arrogance and complete dismissiveness of her. I basically *asked* him to run w/e diagnostics he needed to to rule out RA for my wife for certain. He got very rude and repeatedly raised his voice telling me I don't know how to do his job and I don't know what I'm talking about. For *asking* him to at least run w/e test he needed to run to definitively rule it out When I asked him to make a note in her medical file that we were requesting tests and he was refusing, he kicked us out saying he refused to treat her at all

I have seen Dr. Abdullah twice now. He is very warm and kind and thoughtful. He takes his time with you and listens. I like that he is thorough yet doesn't send you for unnecessary tests or procedures. He gives alternatives to treatment. Sometimes you may not like what he says (ahem weight) but sometimes the truth hurts. I am very happy to be patient.

To begin with the front office lady Cathy is sweet as pie. Always very welcoming and friendly. I have been on the phone numerous times with nurse Niki. She is the sweetest most caring nurse I have ever dealt with. She always goes above and beyond to help get tests scheduled or anything I need. She really makes me feel that she cares. That’s a nurse any doctor should be proud to have. She is Amazing!! Then Dr. Abdullah he is also very caring, straight to the point and never want to do any fluff test just what is needed. This man has changed my life. I’m so Thankful I found him. The entire office was hand picked and you can tell. Great job and thanks for welcoming me to your rheumatology family!!
