First visit Dr. Ahrens changed my inhaler. Within 24 hours I started downhill. Called his office nurse 3 consecutive days. No calls returned. On day 3 I refused to hang up and got to talk to her. I was told Ahrens was booked solid and just go to urgent care. The nurse also told me they had the wrong phone number for me-which I later confirmed was not true. Urgent care told me to see Dr. Ahrens within 10 days after completing their medications. I was unable to get into Dr. Ahrens for 40 days. Therefore I sent him a detailed Cox email account of my dilemma. Dr. Ahrens called me and reviewed my email. At the end of the call he asked me to not use the Cox email system "because its a pin in my patooty."

It is quick and can't understand what he says as he mumbles. I didn't get asked if I wanted to change inhalers. He changed them without asking me and now I have inhalers I can't use due to the fact I don't know how to figure them out and don't like them. I was happy with the ones I had and didn't need different or more inhalers and they are charged to me without my permission.

Dr. Ahrens was personable and very well versed in my husband's test results and hospital notes. He coached us in ways to work through the diagnosis. We were very pleased with his professionalism and bedside manner. He seems to enjoy his work and gave us plenty of time to ask questions, and ways to stay in touch with his office.
