Concerned former patient
Unfortunately I was treated for years by Dr. Honick. I was always prescribed high levels of several anti-anxiety medications in tandem. When I left Myrtle Beach, I had a very difficult time finding a new psychiatrist. I kept asking for ideas and references, but didn't receive any solid leads or answers. I was told by his staff to find myself a new care provider. Period. I had to beg to remain in his care as I didn't have any other option. Dr. Honick casually explained should I have a major problem, he could no longer treat me.I would tell him exactly what he wanted to hear to continue to get my core medications. I have a very good nurse practitioner now and am incredibly grateful. I'm also grateful there are many other providers in the Myrtle Beach area to choose from now, which wasn't the case when I was first diagnosed. Should you see Dr. Honick and question him, remember, it's almost always ego driven the answer you will receive. There are much better doctors.

Overprescribes
Had my son on 70 mg extended release in the morning, then 40 in the afternoon, AND and instant release to use if he got tired. Then sleeping pills or benzos to then come down from it. Horribly irresponsible provider and doesn’t deserve to have a license.

DISREGARD THE NEGATIVE COMMENTARY, PEOPLE.
it wasn’t until early adulthood that I sought treatment for & was formally diagnosed with ADHD/ADD. prior to being taken on as a patient by Dr. Honick, I had been in the care of three previous physicians seeking treatment to calm my ADHD over the course of 10+ years. without question, doctor honick remains to be the most knowledgeable, accommodating, meticulous, and proactive physician that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with / being in the psychiatric care of. he is who encouraged me to educate myself on the medications that I was being prescribed and inspired me to pursue therapy with a counselor from his practice. 90 mg of Adderall is not abnormal when an individual has been chemically dependent on the drug for over a decade. don’t listen to the negativity. myrtle beach is a better place for people who require psychological and psychiatric care because of doctors like Murray Honick.

**High priority warning. "Dr" Honick has had my grown daughter on 90mg of adderall for 3 years. She never had a problem in school for ADD/ADHD. At the age of 35 he thought it would be a great idea to pump her up on this high dose of adderall. It put her into a state of psychosis among other side effects. She has not been able to hold a job for any length of time while being on this medication. She lost her children to DSS because she couldn't pay her electric and water bill. Don't walk, run away from this "doctor." He ruins lives! He over prescribes meds like they are pez candy!

Has our daughter addicted to high dose of meds. There are others who would truly care and more accurately diagnose.

Dr. Honick always takes the time to understand how I'm feeling and thoroughly explain things. I've been a patient of his for nearly 10 years and have nothing but good things to say about his medical care and office staff.
