Absolutely Terrible
I went in for a follow up for an EEG to get confirmation on PNES. He was extremely dismissive, short, and ineloquent. Additionally, he wrote down notes in the summary for the appointment that weren’t even discussed with me.

No explanation, no listening, just medication
Dr. Chowdhury diagnosed me with MS based solely on 1 MRI, gave me no explanation of what MS is, and then wanted me to select one of the many options for treatment. When I tried to ask questions, he arrogantly dismissed them, noting in my visit summary that I 'didn't believe him.' I had been told by a previous NP that a spinal tap was needed to confirm MS; when I requested that, Dr. Chowdhury rolled his eyes, then ordered it and again asked me what drug I wanted to take from this list he read out to me. All have serious side effects and cost $$$$. He was only interested in dropping the diagnosis as if he was saying 'You have Strep throat' and then asking which med I wanted to take as if he was asking me which flavor of ice cream I prefer. When I asked to see another doctor within the same practice for a second opinion, he first acted like that would be fine but then later he had his staff tell me that I couldn't due to office policy. I would never trust this doctor to manage my care.

If I old leave negative stars, oh wait I can ——-?????????????????????????????????????????????????????? No patient interaction,or personal skills ignored every question I asked.. bottom line I felt ignored my extensive military combat record, I am a 100% combat disabled veteran was ignored and my impression was that he thought I was malingering. He basically ignored whatever Isaid basically about my medical history. When I was asked to put on my sandals, even though he did not test my hair, I tried to put on my sandals almost falling over due to severe tremors, I has to scream help me 3 times before he even looked at am.

Very helpful
Dr. Chowdhury listened intently to my issues and asked questions that really helped to bring the actual issue to the forefront. I would never have thought about mentioning them but the answers I gave really helped him diagnose me.

Thank to him I found out I had and autoimmune d/o
Dr. Chowdhury was very through with me. I have been plagued by migraines since the age of 25. We could never find a reason. When I met the Dr he was very thorough and when he found out I worked with animals he sent me for a battery of blood tests. Lyme was negative but I popped positive on other things and he sent me to Rheumatology. He put me on Ubrevely and Emgality which helped immensely and then I moved out and lost insurance. I hope my new Neurologist will be just as thorough and will listen to me when I tell him what was working before I lost insurance.

Not careful enough
Dr. Chowdhury was pleasant at every appointment, but not very attentive. Information I gave was not entered on my chart correctly, and ultimately he mishandled my medication tapering schedule leading to painful symptoms. Now he has left the office other doctors are helping me navigate this newly created problem. I do not recommend this doctor.

Don't bother if you have a complex issue
Dr. Chowdhury seemed very thorough at first and I appreciated him moving forward pretty quickly with another type of test as each test came back negative. Unfortunately, I came to the realization that if my neuropathy was not a standard neuropathy caused by diabetes, vitamin B deficiency, or MS he basically threw his hands up in the air and gave up trying. He told me I should go to Hartford Hospital ER so they could run a battery of tests more quickly. After the awful experience there, I will never go back to that ER. With still no diagnosis he referred me to the Hospital for Special Care. I wish he had more insight and could think outside the box rather than just send me off to see someone else. He was basically my doctor for only a month and a half! I truly can not recommend him.
