Unbelievable
Nadia was extremely unpleasant to work with during my inpatient stay. She diagnosed me with depression based on my appearance- I am not depressed, I was in the hospital for anxiety. She kept accusing me of things that are not true. She did not once smile or make me feel comfortable. I felt myself getting anxious whenever I had to talk to her because of how argumentative and unapproachable she was. She put in the least amount of effort to explain my medications to me, and instead had a nurse give me print outs of the medication info. She wrote off my nausea from the medications as symptoms of an eating disorder. She accused me of having a flat affect and tried to tell me I was depressed when I was just tired from the medication that she had me on. She also accused me of refusing to eat and spitting food into a napkin, even though nobody looked in the napkin to see that I had just blown my nose into it. I cannot believe this woman is allowed to practice in the mental health field.

She was my psychiatrist at Good Samaritan hospital in Downers Grove. She was cold and dismissive. She would blame me for my emotions, and only tell me to journal. She was extremely rude every time we met. I was honestly scared of her because my care was in her hands. She would not educate me on my medications, and said I was overthinking and too anxious every time I would ask questions. After reading all my charts after discharge, I found multiple times when she would switch around what I would say and blatantly lie. I do not know how she is allowed to care for patients with mental ailments.

Lacks empathy and compassion
If I could give Dr. Mirza zero stars, I would. My boyfriend has been a patient of hers for a long time now, and she has been nothing but useless to him. His most recent appointment was the final straw. She tore into him, blaming him for how he is "always making bad decisions," and refused to help him when he was seeking her out for help. Her only recommendation was to hospitalize himself if "his problems were that bad." She seriously lacks empathy and compassion, and I don't understand how she is still in practice or has patients. You would be doing yourself a life changing favor to seek psychiatric care elsewhere.
