Compassionate / Brilliant MALLA
Dr Malla was the one psychiatrist that we met who cared plus understood my son. I can tell you she gave us hope admist trauma and pure sadness. She treats the whole child by accurately diagnosing plus being so brilliant with what medication she will prescribe nor does she overprescribe. She has helped my son thrive in college now . She is the reason my son is doing well!

Three of my children have seen Dr. Malla for the last 5 years. She has seen us through some very rough times and worked with us - many times pushing us to try routes when we were hesitant. And it worked. (Trust your intuition; you know your child best. But be willing to stretch because she does know what she's talking about.) Dr. Malla is forthright and does not coddle. She tells it like it is. She's responsive, adjusting medications as needed based on feedback and concerns. She's been accessible and available.

Only does zoom med management
Very nice and friendly. Will not take insurance and charges $200 for less than an hour to refill your meds. Only does zoom calls. Her staff is a young girl, sounds like a teenager. During most of our appts she talks more about her culture, her family, her children, what they are doing at school and how achieved they are, what trips their family has been on, even shared recipes. Guess I should have been more assertive to get her back on the topic:ME! There is no real talk therapy, just checks on how medication is doing. She has patients who have similar health issues as mine and tells me how well they are doing, makes me feel like a failure. Not very encouraging. I think I’ll find another doctor who takes my insurance and can do more than medication management.

Excellent child psychiatrist for complex needs
I am beyond grateful to have discovered Dr. Malla. We came to her a month ago for our child who has multiple diagnoses and was suddenly in crisis mode. Dr. Malla spent a substantial amount of time speaking with both my husband and I, and our son during our intake. She took her time listening to everyone's concerns and we left our initial appointment with a medication plan. I appreciated her detailed questions, direct feedback, and willingness to address my concerns both professionally and compassionately. With every appointment we've had, our medication plan evolves based on our feedback and the input of my child. My child enjoys speaking with Dr. Malla and views her as an advocate. It has not been easy to find a child psychiatrist who has BOTH patience and experience. As a parent supporting my child during this difficult time, I have come to trust Dr. Malla and her expert medical opinion.

She’s a no-nonsense type of doctor which didn’t work for me as I wanted someone who was more compassionate. She would ramble on about her kids for ages and even rant about them when they had nothing to do with the conversation. She almost made it seem like my illness was my fault

Dr. Malla is highly knowledgeable and competent in her field. She helped me in the decision making process for my condition by taking the time to explain the evidence properly so that an informed decision can be made. Her manner is friendly and supportive while maintaining the necessary degree of authority. She explained every possible side effects I could have from medicine and asked me to reach out to her if I experienced any of them. She never rushes and takes time to answer all my questions. She is very friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Malla to any prospective patients.

If your kid is complex I would get someone else. The drug strategy she tried with my kid never worked, and had a visible side-effect. Every visit seemed to end with a new or stronger version of a plan that never worked. She wanted my kid to have counseling and gave us a requirement to use a counselor who seemed uniquely unable to help my kid. Finding a good psychiatrist is difficult, best of luck to you. It isn't just the waste of money. It is the waste of time that we can't retrieve.

I thoroughly enjoy meeting with Dr. Malla. She was recommended to me by someone I'm close to, who was very impressed, and I agree with their assessment. She is very understanding and knowledgeable about the effects of different medications on your body, and she explains things very clearly. After meeting with her I always feel energized and ready to take on the world.

This "doctor" has been nothing but a problem since our first meeting. She failed to prescribe me any medication, charged me twice for paperwork she filled out incorrectly the first time, and canceled meetings with me 3 times at the last minute. She is rude and unprofessional. Her office cannot be contacted over the phone, and you cannot leave a message for them as their mailbox is always full. Please use any other psychiatrist. Total waste of money. They cannot even properly communicate what paperwork they need filled out. Horrible experience.

Dr. Rajouria-Malla always takes time with our daughters during their appointments. She listens to our concerns and answers all our questions. We never feel rushed and are always completely satisfied after our visits. Our daughters have made great progress with their conditions and the 45 minute drive to her office is well worth the long trip.
