Dr. Nancy Behrens, MD

Dr. Behrens enters the room smiling, but over many years never ever asked any probing questions to see how my mother was really feeling about lack of sleep. My mother wore the CPAP mask every night for years and years which was uncomfortable and required fittings etc. which was trial and error. Behrens does not do any of the fitting. Behrens never looked at my mother's legs and feet, but diagnosed restless legs and prescribed the same medicine year after year, but it turns out after many years that it was a much more serious condition. Behrens relies solely on the computerized CPAP machine readings which does not tell the whole medical situation. She also prescribed a very powerful drug at bedtime for more than ten years which had serious side effects. My mother went into assisted living, gave up on the CPAP and went off the powerful drug and is much better, but the damage is done!!!

I have been treated for insomnia for more than 25 years. My former Dr retired. Had first appointment with this Dr weeks later and she didn’t even look at the previous Dr notes. A total waste of money and time.

Dr. Behrens is an excellent sleep doctor with a wonderful bed side manners. Kind and caring. I highly recommend her. Mk

Negligent doctor! My sleep apnea had not been solved yet after multiple appointments. I had no mask that worked yet. BUT, I later learned that this doctor could have prescribed nightly oxygen LACK OF PROPER CARE caused me to be fired from a company where, as a result, I lost USD$50,000 in verifiable commissions. I would still be working at that company and earning good money if this doctor had done her job. I NEVER TRUST ANY MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL ANYMORE because of this Dr. Behrens. She should be ashamed of herself & her lack of attention to such an important detail. US Supreme Court justice, Anthony Scalia, died as a result of not having his CPAP mask on (very low oxygen) the night of his passing. At least she could have given me an oxygen concentrator, which is what I have now. I use a nasal cannula while I sleep. My brain & blood oxygen levels are now at healthy levels again. I learned of an oxygen concentrator all on my own, by accident. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LAZY DOCTOR!

Very simply she does not listen. Would not recommend.
