Excellent care at BARC
So fortunate to be referred to Dr. Sullivan after my former rheumatologist retired. First rescued by DNP Hilary Cohen, then Dr. Sullivan--both were personable and caring and, most important, I was able to trust their expertise immediately. Dr. S addressed my concerns about a med new to me and expedited my infusion process. Very confident in this physician and all her staff. Many thanks!

Very dismissive! Can be extremely rude.
I had been very ill. When I went to my appointment, I was told that I could not have a refill on my medication, and didn’t need to see her. At the last moment, gave me a form for x-ray of my joints, and told to go to a primary care doctor for future visits. She had been treating me for several years for rheumatoid arthritis.

Wonderful knowledgeable physician
I have seen Dr Sullivan for over 15 years. She is extremely knowledgeable about my rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, has given me the latest information about these chronic conditions, and has provided me with the latest medications available. She is also extremely kind and sympathetic to my pain and other concerns. I am extremely puzzled by the negative reviews she has received.

Dr. Sullivan is extremely qualified and intelligent. However, I had a great deal of difficulty getting my medication in a timely manner. Her approach was to only give 3 month prescriptions for a lifelong problem. No budging, no matter how life stepped in. When I moved out of state, I had bloodwork done immediately before I left in the hope that my refills would hold me through finding a new specialist. Nope. No refills forthcoming even after multiple attempts to reach her through the portal. Not great continuity of care seeing it’s taken me two months to get an appointment with a PRIMARY provider. So I am without medication for RA until I am referred to a specialist.

Saw her for years for treatment of lupus while she neglected my care. She ignored my joint pain and bursitis and failed for order appropriate testing to monitor my disease activity. No matter what I reported Dr. Sullivan insisted my lupus was controlled right up until I ended up in the hospital with a horrible flare and some of the highest antibody titers my new rheumatologist had ever seen. The quality of care I receive with my new doctor at a reputable hospital is amazing by comparison. Dr. Sullivan on the other hand never explained anything to me, which seemed to be a result of her not actually understanding lupus very well. The 10 minutes of actual face time I got at each appt. was completely useless. She does not seems to keep up to date with research which is critical for a disease like lupus. I suspect she mostly treats elderly people with arthritis, and more complicated autoimmune disorders like lupus are out of her scope.

Felt my symptoms were dismissed (autoimmune, joint pain, abnormal lab results) and basically told unless my symptoms were severe (all joints red , hot and swollen) to not bother calling her. Not everyone has RA. Diagnosed with lupus by another rheumatologist.

Dr. Sullivan seems hesitant about my condition and the best way to treat it. There was no handout available. Instead, I was told to look it up on the internet. I was terrified to learn about the possible lifetime effects of my disease! Would've been nice to have a discussion about these effects with my doctor! No, I would not reccomend Dr. Sullivan, even if it was to my worst enemy!
