She was very patient with me and took time to explain my plan of care and surgery. She did a great job in surgery and follow up with me. She is a top surgeon in Charlotte.

I had a very informative meeting with Dr. Nowak to determine the options I had for hernia problems. Dr. Nowak discussed the options and we decided to have surgery. Surgery went well and I went home the same day. Dr. Nowak and the surgical team that supported her did an excellent job in a professional manner. The information Dr. Nowak gave me at the post op visit, 2 weeks after surgery, was much appreciated by me. Excellent surgeon and very personable. I would certainly recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Nowak is a wonderful Doctor, she is very caring, listens to you and is extremely helpful with your situation. She recommended to me two different choices for my condition and I chose to have my Gall Bladder removed. She did a great job at Pineville Hospital, and they were fantastic even during pandemic, and I only experienced pain the day after surgery. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Nowak performed unexpected surgery on my mother after a complication from a different surgery. She took time to explain things well and was always kind. She did a great job with the surgery.

Dr. Nowak is not a good surgeon. She messed up my husband's stomach by twisting the bowel during a simple hernia surgery. He had to return to the hospital for an emergency surgery done by a different surgeon.

No bedside manner, does not answer patients questions or questions from family members. Always wants to wait and see what may happen instead of being proactive. I feel 1 star is far too positive a rating for this physician.

Dr Nowak is a good surgeon, however the support staff is terrible. On Friday I ran out of pain meds and called to see if I could get a refill. After 5 calls over a three day period and no callback I called the office manager and am still waiting for a return call. My abdomin is severely swollen and I am unable to lay in any position for more than ten minutes. This is the last time I will be using Surgical Specialist or the Novant Healthcare system.
