No real care provided
I came in with a severe case of bursitis. I was not given an xray and dr. Olson didn't even touch me. Told it would take a couple of months to heal up, given an ace bandage and sent on my way.

Bad Bedside Manner
I saw Dr Olson for suspected De Quervains, choosing him based on his promising profile, education and reviews. While his care team was friendly and helpful, Dr Olson was not. In the short 5-10 minutes he spent with me, I felt rushed and unheard. De Quervains is largely treatable with conservative care, and I was presenting in early stages of symptoms when steroid injections and splinting should be considered first. When I declined setting up a surgery date before trying other treatments first, he left the distinct impression that he was uninterested in managing my case. I felt like I had to plead to try a steroid injection. Ultimately, I chose a different physician to continue my care, as Dr Olson's bedside manner was not ideal if I were to eventually pursue surgical relief. He may have just been having an 'off' day, as other reviews indicate much better interactions, and he sounds like an excellent surgeon. But I recommend a second opinion if you are unsatisfied with his care like me.

Compassionate and knowledgeable
I had an accident involving a high-speed drill bit and my finger. The emergency room physician impressed on me the importance of getting a follow-up with a hand specialist. I contacted Dr. Olson's office and was given a last minute appointment the very day I called. Dr. Olson was personable, thorough and to the point. Even though he had the perfect opportunity to 'milk' my insurance with unnecessary return visits, he advised me of possible complications and informed me of what to do and sent me on my way. If ever I need a hand specialist again, I'm going to Dr. Olson

Seeking 2nd opinion
On June 1 Dr Olson performed trigger finger release. It’s a relatively simple surgery. I had concerns at my first post op visit. He asked if it didn’t improve would I be ok with it. No! I have more pain than prior to surgery. After several therapy visits and 3rd post op visit, he really didn’t have a solution. He said he could “try” another cortisone injection, but didn’t know if it would help. My next step is an appointment with Dr Fisher.

Mediocre
I visited on a Monday, when my arm and wrist had time to rest. Plying volleyball, bowling and a typist at work, it flairs by Thursday. I felt like my concerns were brushed over. I was sent home with an elbow support pad. I’m not sure of what is expected with the elbow brace, is it cured or temporary? Don’t know, aftercare wasn’t presented. Other than follow up if it gets worse. It does get worse every Thursday, though mild/minor on Monday. I’m getting a second opinion. This is not a doctor or office I would not recommend. Service was subpar, though streamlined, the lack of care and empathy for the individual was not there.

Dr. Olson
Dr. Olson was very professional. He gave me several options to repair my injury. It was my choice but I asked him what he thought would be the best. We agreed on one and everything turned out great. I would recommend Dr. Olson anytime.
