Dr. Upadhyaya did not listen to my previous (now retired) endocrinologist's diagnosis of me of HAIR-AN syndrome with the recommended treatment of dexamethasone. While I was under Dr. Las's care my issue was that I had weight gain that wasn't stopping. It was like a switch had turned on in my brain and I couldn't find the off switch to stop the weight gain. Every time I got on the scale I found that I had gained more weight. When Dr. Las diagnosed me with HAIR-AN syndrome and started me on dexamethasone my weight gain finally stopped. And then when I was started on Mounjaro by my PHP, I lost 43 pouds and was ecstatic. I was finally at a normal weight. When I met Dr. Upadhyaya she took me off the dexamethasone, saying this was not a current treatment. As soon as I was off the dexamethasone my uncontrolled weight gain started again until now I have regained 40 pounds of the 43 pounds I lost. Dr. Upadhyaya's complete disregard for my diagnosis has caused me great personal distress.
