I was sent to Evansville for aneurism. Dr Troffkin performed a cerebreal angiogram in which I had complications to the dye contrast. He pulled a staff together to treat me quickly and performed test while keeping me as comfortable as possible. I read reviews saying he's arrogant, in which I can see their personal opinion. I find hes quite intelligent and goes the extra mile to figure the problem and best way to correct it. I am still under his care and as of today wish he was the only doctor I have treat me. Ive put alot of trust behind him and he has been the only one who has tried to help me through the daily pain mental stress and health complications that I have.

Doesn't care about patient
Dr. Troffkin is very rude, doesn't let you talk about your issues, rushes you out of the appointment, doesn't show you or go over MRI results with you, his PA is no better. I had to go to Louisville to get the appropriate care and surgeries needed for my neck and back. In Louisville I was treated like a human being, shown the issues on my actual MRI and taken care of. I do not recommend this pompous Dr at all as he doesn't care nor does he want to be bothered by his patients!

My wife diagnosed wit a golf ball size tumor In bottom center of brain ...that was a Monday saw him Tuesday ordered additional test Wednesday and had MAJOR surgery that Friday ...... that was his call based on what he observed.... how could you ask for more.... yes blunt , condescending and arrogant but he lived every waking moment reviewing every aspect of a solution and surgical procedures he would employ...... he saved a 40+ young womans’ life and made it a priority......

Removed my brain tumor successfully and completely. While I do think he is a very skilled surgeon, the man himself is almost insufferable. Arrogant, condescending, always leaves you with the impression that you are wasting his time. Will spend more time speaking to his recorder than his patient. Don’t expect anything but bare minimum information and time.

I cannot say enough good about Dr Troffkin. I saw two other doctors, a GP and a neurologist, and both said they didn't know what was wrong with me, but that I didn't need surgery. Got sent to Dr Troffkin by mistake basically, but he told me I most definitely needed surgery. Hours after my surgery I was walking almost completely normally after nearly 6 months of extreme difficulty. I could not be happier at this point in time.

Dr.Troffkin saved my life in December 2014 I worked all day seeing two of everything I went to the ER after work and thanks to Dr Benton at Baptist Health in Madisonville sending me to Evansville Dr Troffkin did surgery for a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. Thanks to him I got to meet three more grandchildren. Thank God for you and your team.

If I could give negative stars I would. I had back surgery over 2 years ago and I have had more issues than I started with. My leg is still numb from my sciatica. Upon each of my visits Dr. Trofkin was arrogant, lacked any type of concern with my questions, talked at me like I was not of importance. He seemed only concerned with the note recorder he was talking into and getting me rushed to surgery. Follow up after surgery was as bad. No real testing or therapy to ensure what he "had done" resolved my issue. Which, btw, it did not. When I asked how long my leg would be numb his generic answer of there is no telling but it would eventually return to normal was not very reassuring. It is still numb 2 years.later. My new PC is sending me for an MRI. I would never recommend Dr. Trofkin.

Dr. Troffkin saved my husband’s life. After having a subarachnoid hemorrhage twice in a matter of a month and a half. I have read the reviews saying he is arrogant and rude. I am a Registered Nurse and i found him to be very professional and focused on the seriousness of my husband’s situation while he was in the hospital. When we went to his office for the follow up appointment after my husband was discharged, Dr. Troffkin was more relaxed and more talkative. I honestly believe my husband would be dead if it weren't for Dr. Troffkin, but because of Dr. Troffkin, my husband is alive and well on his way to making a full recovery.

The general consensus is that Dr. Neil Troffkin is one of the worst behaving physicians at Deaconess. Even the staff that work with him at NSC comment about how rude, condescending, and arrogant he is. He only gets away with his poor behavior because of the money he brings into the Health System. Dr. Troffkin has a god complex and leaves the impression that you are blessed to be in his presence. Talented doc or not, it's time to grow up Dr. Troffkin.

Dr. Troffkin is an excellent neurosurgeon. We are lucky to have him here. I am a RN & husband is a pharmacist. He did my husband's cervical disc repair & my spinal fusion. He was recommended to us by neurologists and surgical nurse friends. Does have a "dry sense of humor". I don't need him to be my friend or ask about how my family is. His skill is what I want & need. I will say he did pray with me in the OR before they put me under & that meant a whole lot to me!

When I commented to multiple nurses at Deaconess Gateway & Midtown about how exhausting Dr. Troffkin is (dealing with his arrogance, trite comments) one of them said, "well, he is one of the top 3 Neurologists in the country."I replied, "my father had one of the top 3 heart surgeons in the country and he wasn't an arrogant a******."For someone so intelligent, he's quite simple minded. It's amazing he's made it this far in his career. Guess that shows what we must tolerate for a top Neurosurgeon.

In short, Dr. Troffkin saved my life. He is simply matter of fact as it relates to your condition and your prognosis. Dr. Troffkin will not ask you about your day, your dog, your kids or what your favorite team is. He is all business. Having said that, this man and his staff care deeply for you. I found him to be very pleasant and his staff to include NP's as well as administrative to be fabulous to me and my wife. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this man to anyone.

Dr. Troffkin saved my daughter's life's back in 2008. She had chiari malformation and almost died. She code blue 5 times in one day. If it wasn't for God working through this Dr. My daughter wouldn't be here today or even able to walk. Actually she should be in a wheel chair but she's not. He's is a wonderful doctor and he was not rude to us. Remember if you want friendly always always show yourself friendly and be patient. May God Bless!
