Dr. Nelly Mauras, MD

She diagnosed my daughter with a craniopharyngioma and subsequent panhypopituitarism 7 years ago, when my daughter was newborn. She is fantastic, an expert and while she may not be a warm fuzzy type, she absolutely cares for your child and will hold you to a high standard to care for them well. We owe our daughters success to her consistent care.

My daughter was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 10 in 2014. Dr. Mauras was her physician for 8 years until she graduated HS and went off to college in 2022. She gained my daughters trust and confidence all those years and educated her about her disease and all her changes in her body. She may have been a bit rough initially, but she smoothed out soon thereafter as she developed her relationship with my daughter. I am forever grateful for Dr. Mauras and her straight-forward, no BS (with Mom and daughter) in treatment, counseling, and support. And she always ensured my daughter's health was at its best. We have waited at times for her to commence the visit but that was not her fault. It's scheduling and it's a pediatric office. Schedule times are set but routine appointments sometimes get delayed due to more urgent appointments. The best we can do is appreciate the care the physician is providing our child. We waited for an hour and fifteen minutes to see her. She didn't apologize or even acknowledge that. She is a very poor listener and has very poor bedside manner. This is crucial when working with children! She wrote down and repeated information I gave her incorrectly, numerous times. She did not read through our file nor take time to evaluate as a whole person. It was all about numbers and data. She should stick with research and get out of patient care. We will NOT see her again.
