Everything from start to finish is great with Dr. Sabates and his team. From conversations overheard in the waiting room, people come from all over to be in his care. Both he and his staff have an excellent chair side manner. I have had a chronic disease for 52 years and Dr. Sabates is always very thorough with my eye care to make certain we stay on top of my vision. I believe I am blessed to have the best Opthamologist in Kansas City.

Nelson Sabates should not be allowed to perform surgeries. He performed macular pucker surgery on my left eye, which left me partially blinded with extremely distorted vision. When I expressed my concern when the eye wasn't healing, he kept lying to me, by telling me it was getting better and the swelling just had to go down. He was also very condescending. Also after my cataract surgery on my right eye, a steroid was over-prescribed which resulted in my having to go to a corneal expert to save the eye. Please find another eye doctor and practice, unless you want to have problems and be treated with very little respect.

I had some traumatic retina issues that required immediate attention that has been restored with Dr. Sabetes expertise. The care and attention provided by the Doctor and staff was very helpful in my time of need!

Dr. Sabates and his staff are thorough and compassionate providers. I moved to Kansas City 5 years ago just after experiencing a retinal detachment. Dr. Sabates was recommended to me and I have received the best of care. After calling the office over the weekend for floaters and flashing lights, Dr. Sabates called me three times on Monday morning to make sure I had received the proper care from his office. (My ringer was off.) His office had responded to me quickly and already had me scheduled to see him later that day. I had a tear in my retina and Dr. Sabates did surgery the following day. When going through this stressful time, I knew I was in good hands with Dr. Sabates and his colleagues.

Not just this visit, but every visit I have had at this office has been great from start to finish. Dr. Nelson Sabates has been my ophthalmologist for 18 years, and I have yet to have an adverse experience with any one in that office starting with reception at the front desk all the way through the check out process. Dr. Sabates is very excellently educated in the issues involving my care, and has a great chairside manner - making sure I understand what is going on with my vision.
