My 18 year old son desperately needed a tonsillectomy before heading off to college due to chronic strep infections. I didn’t want him to go through the horrific recovery of a traditional procedure that you hear about so often especially in adults. I knew of a less common procedure called INTRACAPSULAR tonsillectomy and set out to find a surgeon who performs it. After a quick Google search I found DR PHAM!! I immediately switched insurance, from Kaiser to PPO to see Dr. Pham. Loved him immediately and booked surgery for my son right away. He did an EXCEPTIONAL job! ZERO BLEEDING, minimal pain and 2hrs post op, my son was eating Mac and cheese and drinking a milkshake. Parents, DO YOUR RESEARCH!! There is no reason to put your child through the EXTRACAPSULAR tonsillectomy. The recovery is brutal, long and painful and comes with so many complications. If you’re in OC, go to Dr. Pham. Came slightly late for an appointment by 10 minutes. Front desk very rude. Refused to see us because doctor had a meeting. Have a newborn baby and traveled far and there was nothing polite about them. Go somewhere else.
