4 surgeries later
Used the wrong hardware in the first wrist surgery. Corrective surgery to use the right hardware developed an infection. Third surgery was performed by a different surgeon in the practice to clean out the infection this clown caused. Required 24-7 pump inserted into my heart to get rid of the remaining infection. Fourth surgery determined I lost so much bone in my wrist from the infection that he initially dismissed my wrist had to be fused resulting in permanent range of motion loss. Use a different surgeon.

I am shocked by some of these reviews. Are we talking about the same doctor? Dr. Nicholas Bontemo is one of the most considerate and caring doctors I have met. I am 68 and I have had three surgeries with him in the last 14 months. He is 100% committed to getting the very best results for me. Age has nothing to do with it. He is very caring, spends all the time with me I want, and explains everything in detail. His aftercare is excellent. I would recommend him highly.

I did not like Dr Bontempo. I felt that he was very young and uncaring . That was in 2014.Maybe he thought I was old so it didn't matter that I was hurting. My daughter was with me and she thought he acted superior and pompous.

I previously posted about carpal tunnel and wrist surgery. This has been an on going issue I developed dual tendinitis on the top forearm and was back to work 1 month after. I had a carpal tunnel release, a ganglion cyst removed, a growth on my bone files down and he found a torn ligament during surgery. He is very very adamant returning patients to work ASAP. I was in physical therapy, things seemed up and up and I develop this tendinitis that keeps me awake at night and interferes with reg activities. I had a cortisone shot that did NOT work. I have two small children at home as well as my job consists of typing all day. He released me to full time today no restrictions not even frequent breaks to rest my hand. I am okay returning full time. I am not okay with him thinking I don’t need to ensure this gets worse. Very discerning. His PA Elizabeth Quealy is Amazing. Oh and I love his office manager Karen

I've seen Dr Bontempo for various finger, wrist, and elbow issues. He is always on time, thorough and truly shows concern for his patients. I've had 2 surgeries with Dr Bontempo (wrist and torn biceps tendon)... both of which with phenomenal outcomes. I've also had to bring my teenage son to him on a couple of different occasions and he is also great with children. His team is tremendous as well. I would highly recommend Dr Bontempo to anyone looking for an excellent hand, wrist, elbow orthopedic.

I’ve had several surgeries with Dr. Bontempo and was extremely satisfied. His new secretary doesn’t know what she’s doing. After my surgery I went to get my pain medication and the pharmacy didn’t have a prescription for it. I called the office and was told it would be taken care of. Two days later it still wasn’t there and the secretary didn’t know what happened. The former secretary was kind and efficient and made sure everything was taken care of. I will not be going back

His secretary was unprofessional and lacked courteousness. He was apathetic and despite diagnosing me with cubital tunnel he would not authorize modified work duty for whatever reason. He said I was born with it but signed off on worker's comp paperwork which seems contradictory. He quickly suggested I see another doctor if I disagreed with him and when I asked for those doctors he rambled off a list so quickly I couldn't even write them all down. I would NOT recommend esp for workers comp.
