Dr. Nicholas Panagiotou, MD

I have been going here since 2014 (I was 19 at the time). He was recommended to me by my parents. I'm now 30 & a lot has changed. I have been on birth control since I was 16 due to abnormal periods&terrible symptoms accompanying them. Since 2014, I have gained some weight & I have no idea why. I tried to come off birth control about 2 years ago, and experienced a lot of fatigue, & no periods until about 6 months after coming off the birth control & bled for weeks. I'm back on birth control for it. I went to him to get normal blood work & talk to him about getting some hormones checked. He told me everything comes down to my weight & he was trying to push weight management drugs on me when that wasn't the reason I was there. DISMISSIVE. About 5 years ago, I had contracted Lyme & didn't have any of the symptoms. He wasn't the one that caught it - it was my psychiatrist at the time because she ordered bloodwork before beginning treatment because lyme can cause mental health problems.

On my first visit, he did a thorough examination and prescribed what was necessary. He is knowledgeable and listens to you, does not rush you, and is very pleasant and explains everything.

He was my dad's attending physician at Hackensack Medical Center. He is currently my mom's primary care physician. He is always available to speak to family members about the care being given and he takes the time to explain the current medical condition. As a primary care physician, he does not over medicate and listens carefully to the patient and to the family. If you or someone in your family find yourself at Hackensack Medical Center, I recommend that you ask that he be the attending physician. If you're looking for a primary care doctor, you will not find a more caring doctor.

Dr. P is always friendly and listens and answers questions...he resolved my problems through advise or medication or referrals to specialists...the staff was always friendly....I was never rushed or had long waits and my phone calls were answered timely and with courtesy.

Best doctor for my father very patient and he explains everything and follows up

I would not recommend this physician to anyone! he did not come to the hospital until 4 pm the day my 93 year old mother was to be released from HUMC @ Pascack Valley & so she had to remain there the entire day & didn't get home until after 7 pm, and she lives down the street. I wouldn't let my dog be seen by him. he doesn't get to the hospital until late in the evening, which is unacceptable. We had no choice in doctors since my mother was brought in through the emergency room.

My mom was admitted to Hackensack Medical Center and Dr. Panagiotou was assigned as the primary physician. He provided a thorough explanation on the treatment that she be would be getting. The biggest plus is that he returns calls fairly quickly, including Saturday. My normal experience with doctors is that they either don't return calls or after several days. I gave 4 stars for trust because this was the first time dealing with him.
