Dr. Nicholas Scarcella, MD

1st of all I want you to know a bit about my background, so you’ll understand better about the seriousness of my review. I’m 55 yrs old. At 15 I had kidney failure and almost died. Since then I’ve had health problems and needed several surgeries. So I’m extremely experienced with being a patient plus an advocate for my mother the last 8 yrs of her life. Plus I have an above average medical education. Especially when it comes to my situation. I’ve been trying to find a surgeon willing to do surgery on me to repair spinal cord damage, many herniated discs (my entire C-spine. Aka my neck) Also on my lower back for over 10 yrs. I’ve met with Dr.S several times and he also is the only surgeon that was willing to remove my Neuro stimulator that’s been dead in my back for several years! He did an excellent job! No problems. We have worked together on my surgical plan. He actually listens to me and takes me seriously. VERY RARE! Surgery for my neck is 11.20.24 I’ll update after. 10 stars!

Dr. Scarcella performed a lumbar microdiscectomy on me. I had been having severe pain from a pinched nerve of which I couldn't walk and couldn't work. After seeing Dr Scarcella he was very confident in the plan to correct my issue. Surgery was scheduled in a very timely manner and was completed. My pain and problem had been fixed. The best surgeon I have ever had!

Professional, thorough, considerate examination and evaluation. A plan of initial treatment was established with physical therapy and another MRI to evaluate a different part of the spine than the one I brought with me. The physical therapy at Mesilla PT has helped more than I had anticipated and I will soon return to the doctor for further follow up. I highly recommend this physician and his assistants and office staff as a knowledgeable and caring practice.

Dr. Scarcella is one of the best doctors I've ever encountered. He is more than what I expected and I am so thankful I was referred to him.

Dr. Scarcella went out of his way to fit me into his busy schedule last minute for a consult after a visit to urgent care. Cant say enough about his professionalism and character. He laid out all my treatment options and was willing to listen to me regarding my needs and advising me which treatment option would be best moving forward. Thank you Dr. Scarcella for everything!

Dr. Scarcella has got to be the best Doctor I have ever encountered. If he were a PCP, He'd be my choice. When it comes to my back, he shows concern. He is so willing to help me get my back healed and he is going over and beyond to assure I get back on that field. He is thorough and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Scarcella. I promise, he will take care of you. I can't Thank Him enough.

he rebuilt lumbar region a gave me back the ability to after physical therapy to be able to go up and a stair case instead of riding my chair lift. also helped with leg problems. he is the best the surgery was 8/29/18 where he put in rods and screws

Dr. Scarcella sort of accidently become my doctor and surgeon. But I do have to say that I am glad he did, there is no word to explain how knowledgeable he is in his practice and how attentive he is with his patients. I've said it before and will continue saying it, there are only two doctors I've come to appreciate and love, that's my PCP and Dr. Nicholas Scarcella.

I went to Dr. Scarcella with a very non- typical back problem. He took the time to gather necessary information and thoroughly research my situation and develop a course of action. We are on the right track. I am comfortable with course we're on.

This Doctor is true to his craft. An excellent communicator and an excellent surgeon. I have recommended him to several people. I personally was given back my ability to walk as much as I care to without any pain! I think Las Cruces is very fortunate to have a surgeon of this caliber andI hope he will make his home here.
