Exactly What I Needed
Dr. Kiefer was very kind and gentle. She was also very conservative in her treatment approach, which is most appreciated. I felt heard. I believe she and I are going to navigate through any diagnosis together. Thank you, Dr. Kiefer. Her RN was also very supportive and kind.

Not a good doctor!
I researched Dr. Kieffer because of her bio when she worked at UW medicine and thought she could help me. She is not a good doctor. I think she is very judgemental, bias, dismissive and did not listen to me. I wish I had never met her due to her lack of caring.

I've been in the care of Dr Kieffer for 6+ years. She cares, she listens and answers question without a rush or hurry. I hold Dr kieffer in the highest regard. She's highly competent and caring. It was challenging getting accepted(for me) as a new patient, but well worth the effort

I am beyond grateful to have found Dr. Kieffer. She has spent a long time with me in every visit--very patient listener--and always asks me if I have any more questions or concerns before leaving the room. The administrative staff has always been very friendly and helpful as well. I've had my MyChart messages responded to almost immediately every time (her MA is great, too), and while I'm not happy to be on the health journey I'm on, I am extremely happy to have a found a good doctor and care team.

Where's the ZERO?
Three of my doctors suggested that I may have M.S. & they advised that I see a Rheumatologist. I received a referral to see Dr. Kieffer about my issues, aches & pains (which had become worse after I contracted Covid-19 at work). Dr. Kieffer took my vitals, no other testing was done. She told me to go home & treat my symptoms on my own. Which is fine BUT I'M NOT A DR. & IF IT WERE THAT EASY...I WOULD HAVE TREATED MYSELF. This is concerning as I thought she would find something had she run some tests. I sat & cried in her office (I've never done that before). What the actual (?) You're Doctors & Nurses, DO YOUR JOBS PEOPLE.

I should have went by the previous reviews
I read the reviews on her and still gave her the benefit of the doubt because I am positive for a gene (hla-b27) that makes me susceptible to have arthritic autoimmune disease. I have a mri which shows arthritis in my neck & spine & she dismissed me back to my primary care Dr to deal with me with her diagnosis of fibromialgia. No further work up was necessary she said and said stress management was very important for fibromialgia indicating I'm the creator of my bodily chaos. So stress and fibromialgia is what it is. She is very unempathetic to a person in my condition. It's easier to blame it on the patient rather then deal with it. Look up "hla-b27 gene". That's what I have along with symptoms and mri. She has good reviews here and I'm sure she's great to the patients that she chooses but I experienced what all the people did that gave her a bad review and I totally regret still seeing her despite what I read. Pick a different Dr if you can!!!!!

I have been seeing Dr Kieffer for the past 2yrs, since I was referred to her by my pcp. All throughout, I have had the best experience that I could ask for. First and foremost, the most important thing to me as a patient is finding a physician that truly cares about me as a human being and takes the time to listen to my concerns. In Dr Kieffer I have found a physician that is not only on top of her game but is truly concerned about my well being and makes me feel heard. I can't ask for a better health care provider.

Didn’t ask me why I was there, didn’t do a physical exam, wasn’t familiar with my history, and dismissed my concerns. Diagnosed me in one appt with Fibro, which I do not have. The next doctor immediately recognized it as Carpal Tunnel and began treating me. Dr Kieffer told me there was no treatment and I didn’t actually have real problems in my hands. Can’t discourage potential patients enough, she’s reckless and hasty.

I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis for nearly 20 years, and Nicole is hands down the best. She is incredibly knowledgable, competent and empathetic. She has been my rheumatologist for the past two years. My rheumatoid is very aggressive, so it is critical to be able to have open and honest conversations about a range of treatment options. Nicole listens to me, and clearly explains pros and cons of different options, so I can make an informed decision.

Nicole is the best. I have been to so many drs. Over 20 Trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I was completely disabled. I was unable to work on crutches then wheelchair. I was hurting and angry and Nicole was the only dr. That actually took the time and had the compassion to help me when no one else could. She works with my drs. Back in Alaska and i was able to get better and go back to work again. I am in no pain. I love her. She gave me my life back.

She seemed fine at first, getting down to business, but ultimately she ignored my description of my symptoms. She told me my arthritic symptoms of joint pain and weakness were actually just my inability to push through the pain and pain management would fix it. False. She told me to get more exercise, apparently ignoring the fact that I have a TBI and am under the care of multiple rehab doctors. And when my TBI affected my ability to think linearly, she was critical, rude, and ableist. Stay away

Great experience! Dr. Kieffer has done a wonderful job and listens to my concerns. As all medical professionals are rushed in this day and age of insurance run medical care, she does not have time to sit and chat about grandkids BUT, she definitely does her job. She even diagnosed a birth defect heart issue that hadn't been caught it in 48 years. I don't know what others have experienced but she is my 5th rheumatologist in 20+ years and I feel that she does a fantastic job

I felt like she put me on the witness stand for why I wanted a second opinion. Then I had a result that confused the results of her second opinion. I asked twice if that changed her second opinion once via phone message and once via e-mail and she did not answer the question even though I offered to make another appointment to discuss the new development. Basically, she doesn't want to deal with things when the going gets tough. Would absolutely not recommend her. Too abrasive and a cop out.

I had the same experience as the other reviewer. Dr. Kieffer is brusque, in a hurry to get to something else besides me, the patient. She also failed to pay attention to what I told her about symptoms, and it was evident at the end of our session.

Nicole Kieffer doesn't listen to patients. Twice she told me to tell eye specialists they should put me on a systemic medication. Twice I explained to her they'd refused and why. (And why should the PATIENT tell them? Shouldn't she?) Yet she still wrote it in her notes. She dismissed my previous doctors' diagnoses completely--not even sure she read them. She dismissed symptoms because "you're not having them TODAY, are you?" An M.D. friend said she probably doesn't like complex cases. How sad.
