A 5-STAR Rating for Dr NKL is simply too low
Years ago I suffered from horrible migraine headaches. Finally, another MD told me to make an appointment with Dr. Laurin. THANK GOD I DID. She is an AMAZING PROFESSIONAL with a very practical, no nonsense approach to medicine. She and her admin office, VICTOR, Are TRUE CARING PROFESSIONAL AND A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH. Every time I visit, she is WELL PREPARED. Reviews my history, has injections drawn and ready. She is immaculately dress and professional almost to a fault. She reviews my prior history and then add any new history, where it is neurological or not. Though a neurologist she makes salient suggestions on many issues. I have been a MAYO patient since 2012 and have has a LOT of treatments there. Mayo MDs are among the world's best. No surpasses D4. Laurin. I have total confidence in her and so very much appreciate her and Victor. One can't do better anywhere as far as I am concerned. Steve Elson - Dad, Yale Cardiologist; Sister cardiac nurse.

Dr. Laurin does herself no favors by keeping the front office staff she has at this point. Unbelievably rude and unfriendly. Going through this gentleman to get an appointment fills me with dread; who needs to talk to a pill? Dr. Laurin is pleasant enough and I've seen her multiple times for my MS. She's fine but not worth going through the remarkably unpleasant front desk. I'll be changing doctors.

Dr. Laurin reviewed my situation and gave me very good advice that after 1 visit reduced my chronic headaches from 3-5 per week to 0-1. I couldn't be happier. Keep in mind that I've been to 3 prior doctors, 1 phys. asst., physical therapy for 6 weeks, x rays, and 2 MRI's.! I want to see her for follow up but had to cancel due to Coronavirus precautions. Thank you Dr. Laurin!

I’ve had bad headaches for at least 3 years. Dr Laurin said I was having migraines and gave me a script for injections and topamax. This is the 7th week that my neck and head have been hurting incredibly. Dr Laurin told me at my last visit weeks ago to go to a pain doctor to get trigger point injections for the “spasms” in my neck. Alyssa at AZ Pain Institute in Scottsdale ordered a cervical MRI last week. Got the results this morning. The report shows I have a bulging disc at C4-C5 above my fusion and stenosis below my fusion!!! Dr Laurin never sent me for an MRI at any time while she was my doctor. THREE YEARS were wasted in unnecessary pain!!! Pending approval, I will be getting a nerve block injection next Monday and starting a series of 3 steroid cervical injections on next Friday. Praying I finally get rid of these debilitating headaches and won’t need further surgery. No thanks to Dr Nida Laurin, AZ Pain Specialists in Scottsdale found the culprit.

The front office staff is unbeliably short, rude and unprofessional! I can’t believe this office has stayed in business. Unfortunately, no matter how good of a doctor she may be, the office staff is enough to keep me away forever. Truly the worst office experience I’ve ever had in my life. When I tried to address it with the doctor, she was unresponsive as the office staff is her husband.

I was referred to Dr. Laurin by my primary care physician. I checked their website & it indicated they took my insurance (Blue Cross, Blue Shield), so I called. The female who answered the phone asked for my insurance info, they said she wasn't sure if they took my insurance & they would have to call Blue Cross, Blue Shield. I expl that it said right on their website that they took it, however if they needed to call that was fine. That was 8 days ago - I've never heard back from them. STAY AWAY.

Worst front office staff ever! As a new patient you would expect him to be welcoming and helpful, not the case at all! Have heard so many great reviews about the doctor which was why I called to set up an appointment. But with staff like that, unfortunately i will be looking for a new Neurologist. Sucks that her staff is ruining her reputation before she is even given the chance to create a good impression.

Dr. Laurin is certainly qualified, but there's little warmth or compassion given--by anyone in the office. I had an initial consultation a while back for migraine, and was looking for some alternatives to heavy meds. I've had migraines for nearly 20 yrs, and really wanted to get away from the meds & all their side effects. Even though I do my own research, I wanted a doc to be my advocate. Long story short, I walked out with a stack of RXs (that I never filled), & was back to the drawing board.

Pleasant, thorough, well-versed in my neurological issues, and has a sense of humor. I travel to the Valley to see her and it is well worth it. Dr. Laurin has been very helpful with related issues, either providing helpful information to another doctor I see or referring me to another doctor for special care. NKL has a very friendly and helpful staff who have always responded promptly to my inquiries.

I took my 77 yr old mother to see Dr Laurin b/c she was having acute memory loss. I live in NY and am not able to take care of a lot because of the distance. I went with my mother on the apt and wey signed a waiver for me to be able to speak to the Dr directly regarding the results of an MRI. The Dr would not take my calls, her assistant gave me the results, but I was in need of the Drs council. I was beyond angry that this Dr would offer no help to a family in need of help given my mothers age

My daughter was seeing Dr. Laurin for neurological deficits from a brain tumor. She needed a letter for her college so she could utilize Disability Services. Dr. Laurin would not even see her for an appointment regarding this, or write a letter. I thought she would have been the perfect doctor to handle this because she was familiar with her deficits, but sadly was totally uncooperative. We are switching to a different doctor at this point.

IN MY 70 YEARS I HAVE VISITED A LOT OF PHYSICIANS. I COME FROM A MEDICAL FAMILY AND WAS A NAVY CORPSMAN IN VIET NAM. I AM VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT THE DOCTORS I SEE; I ALWAYS VET THEM BY SEVERAL SOURCES LOOKING AT THEIR SCHOOLING AND CREDENTIALS. DOCTOR LAURIN IS 5-STAR IN EVERY CATEGORY. BEFORE MY VISIT I KNOW SHE PREPARES AND REVIEWS MY RECORDS BECAUSE OF THE QUESTIONS SHE ASKS. SHE IS BRIGHT, COMPETENT, AND PROFESSIONAL TO A FAULT. I FEEL LUCKY TO BE ONE HER PATIENTS.
