I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to see Dr. Ghate, DPM over an orthopedic surgeon when I broke my foot. He listens. "I need to be able to walk". That's what I said. He gave me all of my options, the quickest being surgery, and assured me I would be able to bear weight, with a boot, immediately after surgery. In less than a month I was back in my regular shoe and back to work without restrictions. He heard what I wanted and delivered on his promise. Additionally, and unheard of, after surgery he gives you his cell phone number for direct access to him 24/7. You can literally call or text him anytime directly. Not his answering service, or on call Doctor. I don't know another Doctor willing to do that. If you are looking for the best Doctor for foot or ankle surgery, you just found him.

I ended up in the hands of Dr. Ghate when I ended up breaking both of my heels in a freak accident that never should've happened in the first place. I went into it with all sorts of bad feelings but each time, he assured me he was going to do whatever it took to get me up and walking again. He went on to say that its rare to see someone with two broken heels at the same exact time but, either way he gave me the reassurance I needed, always did what needed to be done in terms of compression splints and castings. Not only that, but when it came to surgery he brought his best and I couldn't have asked for a better doctor to have taken care of me and fixed my heels. I now currently have two plates and 12 screws between two heels. I'm back on my feet and walking and doing things I love to do and its all thanks to doctor who knew what he was doing, knew how to take care of his patient, the office and staff are amazing and its nice and sanitary as well. I would definitely recommend him.

I had a bunion and hammer toe repair. Dr. Ghate did a great job. I was back at work in a month (office job - I am sure every situation is different). With the procedure he uses for the bunion repair, there was no need for a scooter - only a boot! Very little post surgical pain. His office staff is very kind and friendly. The wait times in his office were very reasonable, and even on the days where he may have been 'running behind', I never felt as though I was being rushed out of there just so they could get caught up. He repeated asked if I was having any issues and if I had any concerns about the surgery. He explained what he was going to do, and what I could expect after the surgery and what would be the best way to deal with my foot issues if I choose to not have surgery. I did not feel pressured to get the surgery at all. If life presents me with another situation where I need a podiatrist, I am definitely going back to Dr. Ghate.

Don't go to this yo-yo, especially if you are an athlete and need to get back into the game. He is rude, sloppy, incompetent, and arrogant. Eight weeks into a failed (non)treatment I went to the City and was correctly diagnosed as having needed surgery immediately, while I had been going to work every day in PJs on crutches. Nihar basically destroyed the first six months of my year. At least I did not go under his knife. Scary.

He was unprofessional and his office is dirty... He also didn't know how to read my x-ray... I don't know how he's even a doctor.. Someone told me they had a similar experience but I went in with an open mind... BIG MISTAKE

I ruptured my Achilles’ tendon and Dr. Ghate did the “Pars” technique to repair it. I could not be more pleased with his care, personality, follow up and understanding of the injury and my concerns. He listens and cares and is always available should anything arise. He is by far the best...and a lot of other people I know truly say the same.

After walking around for three days with a sore foot, went in to find out it was fractured and put in a cast. He was absolutely professional, dedicated, passionate and not only explained my xray to me but also didn't think I was a "weirdo" because I liked seeing my xray (into anatomy). I feel confident that he will get my foot fixed up and I trust him, which is so important.

Went in for a permanent ingrown toenail removal was told I could go to work the next day and would just be a little sore from the procedure. For some reason I experience more pain than most and was not able to go to work. I was given a work excuse and managed the pain with pain meds I already had. Once the pain cycle broke I was fine and went to work the following day with little discomfort. Can't put my toe in a sock yet but hopefully in a few days.
