Wonderful practice
Dr. Nikhar has always been caring and helpful. I have also seen his assistant Yemi and she was helpful as well. She ordered a sleep study and verified that I have sleep apnea which was contributing to headaches. Great practice.

Kind and Compassionate, but Avoids Taking Actions
Nirgil Nikhar is a kind man who does his best to re-assure patients that they are doing well under evolving circumstances. Until recently, he had been my neurologist for a long time. I have always appreciated his caring demeanor, I came to feel let down by his insistence that it is nearly always best to let the body heal without intervention. “Stay away from doctors, they’re just don’t to do things you don’t need (and may hurt you”) was recurrent guidance. Another: “It’s your muscles, not your nerves.” A third: “You need to accommodate to the changes you’ve undergone.” In short, change your attitude, alter your expectations, enjoy what you have rather than wanting to recover something lost. He’s a good man, but I needed to hear more than, “Hang onto what you still have.” I wanted confirmatory testing and help in trying to reverse certain symptoms. After a long time, I moved on, with regrets, because “stay away from doctors” was no longer enough. Frond desk less than helpful.

Good luck getting them to answer the phone!
I tried several times during the week to reach someone and I fonally got through on a Friday morning. But when I tried to make an appt for my mother the female that answered teh phone said "We dont DEAL with people with Dementia". That was quite offensive to me in the way she said it. Change your staff or train them on how to speak to the public.

Misrepresentation of HIS services
I called Dr. Nikhar's office to attempt to make an appointment as a new patient in their Olney office. I spoke with "Elizbeth" and asked if the Doctor was taking new patients and that they did participate with my insurance. She confirmed both. I proceeded to answer all of her questions to establish a profile before scheduling an appointment. The breakdown occurred when Elizabeth told me I would be seen by the "nurse practitioner" or physician assistant because Dr. Nikhar is NOT TAKING NEW PATIENTS!" When I explained that my request and referral was for the neurology specialist, not his assistants, I was told that the NP and PA confer with the doctor, that was their clinical practice, and I could accept the appointment or they would hand up. I chose the latter and said I would report their conduct. I gave my feedback to my primary care doctor who referred me to them but also wanted this review to reflect my experience. A blatant MISREPRESENTATION!!

We cannot say enough great things about Dr. Nikhar and also his P A., Aubreigh. We went to see him as my son was hanging an issue with frequent headaches and migraines. He was so kind and so knowledgeable. The main part of our appt. was devoted to Aubrey doing an assessment and Dr. Nikhar saw us the last part of the appointment after discussing the assessment with Aubreigh. He was so patient and did not make us feel rushed at any point. He explained thins in a way that was so easy to understand as well. His office environment is very calm and pleasant and very easy parking. We were seen exactly on time. I have referred two friends already to Dr. Nikhar. I wish every doctor were as pleasant as Dr. Nikhar and his office in Olney.

My father and I are both patients of Dr. Nikhar and I can attest to his unrivalled bedside manner and overall thoughtfullness when meeting with patients. He is extremely knowledgable and I appreciate that he explains things in layman's terms. After dealing with many uncaring doctors I can say that I truly look forward to appointments with Dr. Nikhar.

Knowledgeable but no coverage for anything urgent. My pharmacy had a glitch and my repeated refill reques fell through after 4 days. Called the office on Friday and was told that the doc is out, nothing could be done. Left with a raging migraine with no medication over the weekend. Doc still out on Monday and was told once again that nothing could be done. Migraine into 4th day, and I was told that refill request will be "presented" on Tue(not filled). Glad that my pain is taken seriously.

Dr. Nikhar saw my son on a Saturday afternoon. I originally couldn't get an appointment for two months but was told if a cancellation came up they would call me. They did but I couldn't make the new appointment. Then they called the next day which was Saturday and said Dr. Nikhar could see him that afternoon. I was very impressed. He spent a lot of time with us talking and explaining things even before he examined my son. He took his time and was very knowledgeable, warm and friendly.
