Dr. Nisha Patel, MD

Dr Patel took me in at my worst with so many medical problems going on with me she took me under her wing and treated me as I was family. She walked me through every step and all I would need to face to get well again. She took very good care of me and did EVERYTHING she could to make me feel comfortable and safe. I have never in my 41 years ever had a doctor take care of me the way she did. She listened to me, she cried with me, and she helped me see there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel I was in. Today because of her and all her hard work I am back to myself again and feeling better than ever. I am beyond grateful that she was able to find the problem before it was too late and fix it. She will forever remain family to me. Thank you Doc for taking such good care of me!!

TERRIBLE experience. New to the area, went in for an annual exam (covered by insurance) after choosing Dr Patel based on good online reviews. Rushed visit, fastest exam I have ever had, asked if I had any other concerns and when I shared concerns about hormonal imbalance she asked zero questions about lifestyle, history, said she would order labs. Afterwards I was DOUBLE BILLED by her office for both an annual exam and a "specialist visit." When I called to fix the error, I learned it was impossible to contact her or her staff. Billing agency rep eventually admitted they double billed me, said they'd contact the doctor to fix. Instead it was sent to collections, and when I followed up again was told because Dr. Patel asked if I had any concerns they could bill me for a specialist visit as well. BEWARE! Dr. Patel is not an ally in care or concerned about her patients. I found another doctor who takes the time to listen and bills honestly. Feel like I was scammed by Dr Patel and her non-existent office staff. They are easy to contact if you want to schedule an appointment but the rest is horrendous. I never leave reviews but Dr. Patel is not a good doctor and I hope no one else has to go through this.

Dr. Nisha is warm, welcoming and friendly. She takes her time, explains everything she’s doing and answers any and all questions I have. If you’re new to the area or simply wish to change your ob/gynecologist, I definitely recommend Dr. Nisha Patel!

Literally the most affirming experience I have ever had with any healthcare provider. She spent a full 20 minutes with me, listening carefully and talking through potential causes for my issues. She asked about a number of things outside her traditional treatment area just to make sure she wasn't missing any potential connections between symptoms that may have multi-system causes. I've been seeking treatment on and off for terrible cramps for twenty years and this is the first time I left a doctor's office feeling not only like I might finally get an answer, but also that the doctor is just as invested in finding one as I am.

She does not like being asked questions, expects you to just believe and agree with whatever she decides. Even accused me of "talking like a lawyer" when I asked her to explain things to me. Ended up telling me that she remembers every word every patient every said to her. The office workers are nice and seemed to know I was in for trouble when I told them I'd like to talk to her before she performed a planned procedure. I'm glad I did ask questions though, as otherwise I would have had a completely unnecessary procedure (according to the much better doctor I went to after she blew up at me). I'm beyond flabbergasted by her high reviews!

For the past few years, I have not had good experiences with doctors and staff at Mission Health in Spruce Pine. I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of the staff and the warmth, thoroughness and excellent communications with Dr. Patel. She ordered tests and personally followed up with me after each one. One of the best doctor experiences I have had in years.

Doctor Patel is amazing! She is a great doctor and a beautiful person. I have always felt comfortable talking with Doctor Patel. She listens and and is very caring, when I leave her office (after every visit) I feel that I have been heard. After I got home the night of my surgery Doctor Patel called me to check on me. It's the little things :) Her bedside manner is the best and very genuine. I HIGHLY recommend her.

Dr. Patel is an amazing physician with an exceptional ability to hear her patients needs. Dr. Patel provides options. She gives an honest and thoughtful answer to my questions. I have respect for Dr. Patel and I feel she respects me. We are blessed to have her in this area!

Dr. Patel is amazing! From my first appointment she made me feel welcome and made sure that I felt Comfortable. She truly cares for each patient and takes her time with each patient. You will not be sorry if you schedule an appointment with her! She is phenomenal!

Dr. Patel is great. She has an amazing bedside manner that is very hard to find in doctors. She genuinely cares for her patients.

I received excellent care from Dr. Patel. Her expertise, skill and compassion are extraordinary. Not only did she accurately diagnose my present issue but uncovered underlying issues that had misdiagnosed for years. The entire experience from initial consultation, diagnosis, testing, surgery, recovery and aftercare has been exemplary. So grateful to have her as my Physician.

From my first visit I was impressed by her knowledge, concern, and that she suggested waiting to do surgery after other necessary treatment was used. Her after surgery care is cautious, gentle, and thorough. I highly recommend her for all female issues.

Before I went to Dr. Patel no one could figure out what was wrong with me, they would keep saying it was the same thing and it never was. Dr. Patel was the first one to sit down and really talk to me about my situation. She took action to help me get past something I was dealing with for a year, she wasn't going to stop until she had helped me. She is hands down the best doctor I've had the pleasure to meet and deal with. I would highly recommend this kind women and her wonderful friendly staff.
