I had to see this provider for a routine obgyn appointment since my normal provider wasn’t available. My usual doctor has written prescriptions for me with no issue, as it is extremely common for pregnant women to be refused care by non-obgyn doctors due to concerns about how the treatment may affect the pregnancy and lack of studies showing risks and benefits. This doctor initially refused to prescribe me my medication, then refused to write me a script for more than a 15 day supply. He then wrote the prescription for the wrong dosage, the wrong amount to be dispensed, and my insurance refused to cover the script the way he had written it. He also questioned me and insinuated I was lying about setting up an appointment with a new psychiatrist. Noncompliance of psych meds can lead to major complications during pregnancy, especially if you’re already high risk. What happened to do no harm? Unacceptable behavior by someone treating pregnant women.
