I see that there were many good reviews here, but I do not understand how. I wonder if he is different with patients that go through the Surgery Plus program (Employer self funded insurance) I had to see him because my insurance required me to not treat with my doctor, and use their selected doctor. I brought all of my records and MRI imaging to the appointment and I do not believe he looked at any of it. He made no effort to look into many other records that would be available to him either. The whole appointment went 8 minutes exactly for him to tell me my issues were not from my neck. He did request an MRI of my brain, but all my pain and issues are in my neck. He would not listen to my questions, or debate me on his thought that my issues were not coming from my neck. I have had extensive trial and error testing to determine if my neck was causing my issues. I asked him why the steroid injection into the troubled area made all my symptoms disappear. Would not answer. moretosay

Staff did not attempt to get clearance from the insurance company for an MRI despite my insistence that I had extreme new pain. Feeling no resolve - I saw an alternate physician who's staff was able and will to get MRI clearance one day later. Needless to say my faith in this practice plummeted .

I just had my second neck surgery with Dr. Stadlan, and I was a candidate for an artificial disc. He is straight forward, and tells it like it is. He is a very renowned nuerosurgeon and I highly recommend him!

Amazing professionalism and results. He checked symptoms that others didn't and was able to find a better and faster solution. He took the time to explain to me (the patient) and my family what he was going to do and what he did. Very pleased!

Dr Stadlan is hands down the best neurosurgeon out there. He not only explained what my particular problems were, but he put them in terms I could understand. After realizing that my problem was an emergency, he sent me in immediately for blood work and scheduled my surgery for 72 hours after my visit. Surgery went well and he was in no hurry to get me in and out of the hospital. Having had a very serious problem, he made sure that I was up and walking as quickly as possible. He is terrific.

I needed a nerve decompression at L5-S1 and spinal fusion at L4-L5. we consulted with 3 surgeons. Dr. Stadlan was patient, as I had lots of questions, compassionate, and explained in detail what he would do. He did not push me to choose him.

I had L5 removed by another doc. 2 years later, my back hurt again. By luck, I met Dr. Stadlan. He was like 26 or something. I asked if he'd done any of these before. He laughed and said They make us do a few before they let us be certified neurosurgeons. He went in and discovered the other doc had left chunks of disk in there - and they'd grown on to the sciatic nerve. This is seriously sensitive surgery. Dr. Stadlan pulled the pieces off the nerve. 20 years later, I'm still playing tennis.

I selected Dr. Stadlan after meeting with 5 neurosurgeons. He was the only one to examine me first and then ask questions. Dr. Stadlan successfully performed cervical disc fusion on me in 2009 and then in 2013 for an adjacent disc.

Had an appointment scheduled for over a week to review severe back pain. I received a call the day before my appointment saying he was cancelling to take on another patients' surgery and could not make time for me for another full week. I explained that my pain was severe and could he please fit me in or place me with another doctor. Flat out no - left me high and dry to figure it out on my own. Going to a recommended doctor at IB&J - they seem to care a heck of a lot more.
