Disappointed and Not All Cases Are The Same
I found out about Dr Gaylis after watching a video about long covid which I have had since 2019. My JAK2 gene turned on and my platelets are in the millions. His attitude was arrogant and shocked I traveled to his office from Fort Myers. I wanted answers on how to get my long Covid symptoms reversed. The ONE positive was I found out my parasympathetic & sympathetic nerves were so far out of balanced. He prescribed two scripts which I didn’t take until June and it made my long COVID symptoms worse including my platelets reaching to 1.9 mil on June 26th which they were 1.4 on June 11th. My hematologist told me to stop taking them it wasn’t worth the risk. When I followed up with Dr Gaylis on July 8th, he got insulted, rude, denial that what I was experiencing was due to what he prescribed. I have become my own advocate paying attention to what is happening and not an idiot on PEs and COVID. Needless to say I did not return and the negative reviews are in line with what I experienced.

Outstanding
Dr. Gaylis immediately knew the cause and solution of the complex issues I was experiencing. I realized he is a no nonsense professional and does not advocate unnecessary tests and medication’s that are not absolutely necessary. I felt he genuinely cared for my health and was not in it at all for the revenue.ShayaG

Dr. Gaylis is an excellent doctor
Dr. Gaylis knows his specialty. My condition has improved tremendously however, he needs to revamp his staff behind the scenes. The insurance required the doctor to change my medication. I had to have an appointment with the doctor before the office would request authorization for the new medication. After the appointment, I had to call and leave a message on the service five times before the request was submitted to the insurance company for approval. Now the insurance company needs an additional five business days to approve the request. Now, I have to wait for the approval to make the appointment to receive the medication. By the time this process is done I will be three or four weeks past due for my medication. This staff has no consideration for the patients and their medical needs.

It was a terrible experience. The doctor didn't seem to be interested in getting to know me or what brought me to his office instead he asked questions then abruptly cut me off while I was attempting to answer the questions that were asked. When I tried to clarify something that he erroneously repeated back to me, he again cut me off stating that he already understood what I meant. This Doctor seemed to be incredibly impatient and highly disinterested in actually building a report with patients. I walked out of that practice mid visit and WILL NOT return. The nursing staff seemed to be nice enough though.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gaylis for 3 years now. I have 2 rare diseases that Dr Gaylis has been able to control, allowing me to no longer be bed ridden! His medical staff is excellent which includes his research side of the practice! The front desk staff are very professional and polite! Dr, Gaylis has given me some resemblance of life again.

He saved my life, gave me experimental medicine and treated me from long Covid symptoms, when I couldn’t get help anywhere. I am eternally grateful to him and his staff. I would recommend him to anyone especially to people with Long Covid.

Within two visits he determined that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. This was four years ago. I switched rheumatologists and am now being taken seriously and was diagnosed with lupus, raynards, celiac and Lyme disease. I lost years and progressed into neurological impairment in that time period. Lupus is hard to diagnose but unless you meet every marker for an autoimmune disease, he dismisses you and tells you it’s all in your head and to see a psychiatrist. My ANA is extremely high and I have positive anti-dsDNA. If he only treated me a bit longer, he would have seen the blood tests he needed to treat me appropriately. Instead I spent a year thinking I was crazy and seeing psychiatrists instead (who had no idea why I was referred to them). Very disappointing. Not everyone presents exactly the same. Now I have neurological impact from delayed treatment. Seems he’s only interested in the more advanced cases.

Dr gaylis put me on a medication that made my sugar level rise as a diabetic. He did not tell me this I had to tell him after I did my research. Then he put me on another medication for one year and then put me right back on the same medication that made my sugar level rise. Beware I am seeing another arthritis doctor who is now seeming a lot of his patients that left him due to his arrogance and on uncaring bedside manners toward his patients. If you still decide to go to him do your research on the medication that he prescribes before taking it.

I have been seeing Dr Gaylis for almost 4 years. When I met him I could barely move, and was scared of what my life would look like in the future. He told me the truth. I did not like what I heard, but listened and followed his direction . Today, I can do what I want and feel great..I am now 60, and look forward to my future.. he is a great doctor, and knows how to care for people with Arthritis...He will not tell you what you want to hear, but he can get you to a great place, health wise...you make the decision! Mine was Life changing.

Fantastic brilliant doctor. If you’re not there to listen to his expert opinion, go someplace else. He’s been awarded a master of rheumatology. Doesn’t happen to most rheumatologists. Those who have a negative experience probably knew it all before they visited his office. Treats me kindly and has kept me feeling well. Hope he never retires

This is an obnoxious man. He spoke to me in an whiney and condescending manner when asked about a drug he wanted to prescribe me. I was disgusted and angered at the same time. He does not answer any questions and barely looks at you. He is rude. This office appears to be a mill. This doctor is a dinosaur. The few minutes he spends with you will mostly be him speaking into a voice recorder. After one visit he orders MRIs, second visit says there is nothing, no follow up, gives me my records, bye

Excellent doctor and despite what other post say he does listen. The best care comes from a doctor who will not sugar coat what you as a patient need to do for your own health . Yes it is a very busy office which means he is good in his specialty thou some claim not to like his manner ( I haven't had that experience) He cannot sit and talk for long periods of time he will address your questions and concerns. My advice is to write down your concerns and be to the point in your visit. Very caring
