Dr Farooqui totally over medicated my father at Haywood Hospital in April 2022. Please don't let your parent be treated by her.. It won't end well.

Scheduled appointments without ever contacting me except to let me know they'd been scheduled with no prior notice. Sent the completely wrong medication to my pharmacy. It took over a week of me calling her office every single day before the error was corrected. Found out she's out of the office this week, and the policy of her practice is nobody else there can talk to me. Without notice. Refused to prescribe me any medications. Which is strange, because that's all I need her for. She cut our phone appointments short at two to three minutes. A disgrace to psychiatry. I am lucky that my primary care is willing to prescribe Psychiatric meds, or else I would be back in the psychiatric ward of the hospital again.

Some of the drugs because of the warnings should have never been even considered to be given to my wife in the first place! It is plain as day that there must have been some sinister reason when choosing and administering medications for my wife's illness. The drugs Zyprexa and Risperdal both plainly have clear warnings about not to give them to elderly patients with dementia. They went ahead and gave my wife these drugs, totally disregarding those warnings.

I can not praise Dr. Farooqui enough. It upsets me to see such ignorance among people she has treated. She cared for my father. Not only was she thorough, detailed and meticulous in his care but she also spent time with me and my family each visit. Her staff all respect her because she treats them with the same level of care and respect that she gives her patients and their families. I am so grateful to have found her and recommend her care to all my friends and family. God bless her.

Let me start by saying I am a medical professional. My mother and other family members were under her treatment for inpatient geri psych. Dr. Farooqui is brilliant. Her educational background and extensive experience is reflected directly in her exceptional patient care. She is one of a kind. My mother was in her 90's and has since passed away but if I had to bring her back for geri psych care I would only bring her back to Dr. Farooqui. She is not just a great doctor but a genuine person.

Refused to call me back. I left several messages for her with staff and I never once received a call back. She was my father's psych doc at the geri psychiatric unit at Heywood. She once told my father to "not tell her anything she doesn't already know." She is not only unprofessional, but outright rude. She spent the minimum amount of time required with my father and other patients. Three minutes or five at best. She touches base with patients in front of other patients. Atrocious.

Dr. Farooqui cared for my mother when she had Alzheimer's disease. I must say we went in with great hope that we could get some help for my mom and took my mother out of there no longer able to walk, sick with C-dif and more confused than ever. I am sorry but I would never recommend Dr. Farooqui or any of her colleagues at Heywood Hospital. Painful to even think I left my mother under her care. Please go elsewhere. She is not kind, does not listen and quick frankly does not care.
