My experience with this doctor was the best. She is an excellent professional. Highly trained. The day of the operation everything went well. My post-operative period was magnificent and without any complications. She performed a thyrectomy on me and I woke up speaking normally and without pain. The wound looks like it was from a plastic surgeon and is barely noticeable. And her team was fantastic. The anesthesiologist explained everything very well to me. A bilingual nurse accompanied me, explaining the entire process until I fell asleep. There were students and university professors in the room.

Disappointing
I got in to see doctor Okuyemi in the beginning of November. I've been having chronic tongue swelling, a sense of fullness, difficulty swallowing, a sore throat for over a year, and an MRI that showed what was believed to be a thyroglossal duct remnant or cyst between my thyroid and hyoid. When I met with her, she ordered another MRI and seemed hopeful we could figure this out. For my second appointment, apparently the MRI showed nothing (after having a cyst appear in MRIs as early as 2016 , apparently it just now 'disappeared') and she basically didn't want to bother with any other theories or testing. When I tried to ask questions, she began getting impatient. Basically, this behavior mimics that of other reviews about this doctor: your first visit she seems to be on top of things. AFTER the first visit? She's done listening to you. *In case anyone reading this also wonders* :Yes, I have been to a multitude of other doctors to rule out other things. They agree it's a throat issue.

The whole staff was amazing far as I’m concerned Dr. Okuyemi helped me understand exactly what was going on and my options. After talking to her, my anxiety level went way down. The attending nurse was amazing and I think she should get a raise!

Dr. Okuymi did a partial parotidectomy on my father and she was great. She’s extremely informative, thorough, and always a delight during visits. She helped make a stressful situation very easy and comforting. Highly recommend.

I am a 100% VA SC total & perm. disabled Veteran severely exposed to Agent Orange(AO)hurting my health. I was referred to Dr. Okuyemi MD(Dr. O)upon my recent diagnoses of Neck&Head Cancer. Dr. O was also my Surgeon she removed my cancerous areas in my Neck w/o complications. I am grateful very thankful. Dr. O’s Asst. Nurse, Ms. Melanie Rivera RN, has been wonderful she is very supportive. Next I agreed and will receive the SRT discussed with me aft my surgery by my Radiation Dr. he recommended to me. I was treated well from the beginning of my care thru the first 7 days of my 11 day hospital surgery recovery stay. After day 7, HOWEVER, the compassion waned with my longer than avg recovery time and was still not felt at my recent f/u appt. with Dr. O. I find this hard to understand. I would consider recommending Dr. O to my younger healthier friends who can get in and right out as expected. I cannot recommend Dr. O to my fellow Veterans. I will provide updates to this review.

Dr O is a great surgeon. When she explains everything and gives you options you know she wants the best for you. But her office is hard to get a hold of and her limited office hrs means she is packed. There will be a wait. Hell we have caused longer waits for others. Sometimes if feels unreasonable. But it has been better as of late, and they seem to inform everyone if there is a substantial delay.

She has been treating my wife for some time. I don’t have any complaints about Dr Okuyemi’s practice and knowledge. She has been very meticulous and diligent every time my wife has a follow up with Dr Okuyemi. I definitely recommend Dr Okuyemi to any one.

I will highly recommend her for any treatment related to her specialist. She takes her time with every patient and also answers any questions or concerns one has. Maybe that is why the waiting time is long. She is caring and amiable. She has been my doctor for the past three years and definitely she has taken good care of me.

As a surgeon I liked her work, however,I would never recommend her due to the poor service I received before and after surgery at her office.
