Dr. Omar Salem, MD

Dr Salem makes poor decisions,errors,writes his own path reports & does not get them done within 2 wks. When my daughter (22) called for her biopsy results, they were not done but the office told her the results were “fine.” Salem admitted 6 mos later he was confused and not sure how to interpret the results. And he never wrote the report! When my husband went in for his exam 6 mos later, Salem finally remembered my daughter’s case, but instead of telling us this, he requested that my daughter call his office & that he see her again. When she went in, he didn’t tell her his mistake & he made confusing comments about wanting to take out a little more tissue where he had removed one mole 6 mos ago, despite having told her the results were fine.Days later, he admitted everything & said he sent the slides out to determine melanoma finally, so we had to wait 5 more days. 5 days later he said 1 mole was melanoma and 1 wasn’t. Wrong! Both biopsies were melanoma! (Confirmed @ UPMC) Terrible!

I have been a patient of Dr. Salem for quite a few years. He has such a wonderful manner, is very soft spoken and gets the problem solved quickly. He explains any treatment or procedure in detail in layman's terms. He has been a big help to me. You can't find a better doctor.

Having visiting 3 other dermatologists with different issues with my 4 family members without results. We heard of Dr. Salem. Have gone to him for over ten years. He had the diagnosis and solution for all. He listens to concerns and cares. Really can't recommend him more he needs 10 Stars
