I previously was very happy with Dr Zaidel, but with his office being run this way, I'll find someone else!! I Called South Bay Gastroenterology Medical Group on a Thursday early afternoon set up appointment with Dr Zaidel. I'm a returning patient and needed to see the Dr for an issue I'm experiencing. Answering machine picked up, & I was on hold for 25 minutes without anyone answering. Message said to leave a callback number and after waiting so long I finally left message to name, phone #, date of birth, and previous Medical record number from their office. No response whatsoever, no correspondence or call back.

Waited a long time to see him, but was worth it!
Dr. Zaidel and his nurse, Bonnie, are amazing! The doctor is very friendly, caring, thorough, and a great listener. He is a true gentleman and genuinely nice. I would definitely recommend Dr. Zaidel.

Very petty man
Attempted to contact the doctor about how I was billed for about 4 weeks. Called every week and was told that my question was forwarded to the doctor with no response. I was told to make an appointment if I wanted to talk to him because the doctor told his nurse he wasn't going to do anything. Next thing I get a letter in the mail asking me to never come back. A five minute explanation and none of this would have been necessary. I guess questioning anything rubbed his ego the wrong way.

Best doctor I’ve ever had
Dr.Zaidel is wonderful doctor. I wish it was easier to make an appointment and be able to see him sooner but I get why he’s so booked too. He’s the best. He makes sure you understand what’s going on, doesn’t give up until an answered is found or you’re feeling better and helps give you the best quality of life for having to live with a GI disease. His staff is very friendly as well.

Do not see Dr. Zaidel as often. I see his PA who is very personable and caring. The only negative experience has been with the newer Medical Assistance and the the Lab Assistance. They are friendly when Dr or PA are present, but have a different attitude when Dr. and PA are not present.

My experience from my first colonoscopy through today is excellent on all counts. He has a very friendly, positive attitude. He listens carefully to my symptoms & complaints. He carefully considers recommendations for care from conservative to aggressive. I liked the approach and the solution to my problems that today are resolved &/or manageable. I'll see him again in 3 years for a repeat colonoscopy due to my family history.

The office staff is so poor and cause of so much stress that it is not worth it to wait for Dr. Zaidel, who is otherwise very good. Dr. Zaidel admits that stress is a cause of a lot of gastrointestinal disease, and the office staff admits that elevated blood pressure is a consequence of patient stress as a consequence of the extremely long wait times. That, frankly, is a violation of the Hippocratic Oath, the essence of which is "first do no harm." Well then, harm happens in this office.
