Dr. Osama Al-Omar, MD

Dr. Al-Omar has been my daughters urologist since she was born 7 years ago and he has been wonderful. Most recently he performed the Mitrofanoff procedure for my daughter and it has been a game changer in making cathing easier. He was also always available during the healing process and was quick to answer questions. He even personally called to check in after we had placed a call with the after hours on call dr to check in on concerns. He definitely eased my mind and assured me to call with any concerns.

Dr Al-Omar was very knowledgeable of the renal subject even though it was not a straight forward issue. He made us feel very confident that we were making the right decisions for our daughter. And ultimately Dr Al-Omar gave us more than anyone could ever ask for - our Stella Kay no longer has renal issues. We have been discharged completely and I know it wouldn’t be the case without his knowledge and expertise and talent.

Dr. Al-Omar is Outstanding! My 7 year old son is a patient of his we are grateful for his service, expertise and good nature he did a wonderful job on both procedures explained everything throughly and gained the trust of my 7 years old making the experience go so much better than anticipated.

My daughter had kidney reflux and Dr. Al-Omar performed a ureter reimplant. This solved the reflux issue and she hasn’t had a UTI since!!

Dr. Al-Omar performed emergency surgery on my teenage sons testicular torsion. He is an excellent surgeon but beyond that he is a caring doctor who genuinely cares about what he does. He listens and goes above and beyond to help you. We had returned to him later for a different issue of pain and he explored all options until he found a diagnosis. Our son has made a full recovery on all accounts. I cannot recommend him and his staff enough.

We saw Dr. Al-Omar because of our newborn son’s hydronephrosis diagnosis. He did a fantastic job with diagnosis and surgery! He’s straight to the point, but also very willing to answer all your questions. Our son had a successful surgery and we are very pleased!

Dr Al-Omar has taken care of my son over the past couple of years. He has provided great care including robotic surgery from which my son recovered well. Dr Al-Omar has provided great care. He was supportive of our decision to be very conservative with treatment initially but offered surgical intervention when conservative treatment was not successful. We would recommend Dr Al-Omar.

Dr. Al Omar has been treating my two daughters for urological issues due to their rare condition for the past 3 years. He has been straight-forward with us about everything that has needed to be corrected and did a good job with the surgical procedures. We would highly recommend him to other families.

My 6 year old was born with only one functioning kidney so annually, we go for a check-up to make sure the right one is growing and functioning properly. In February 2020 we went to have his check in and his good kidney was retaining to much fluid. We were referred to Dr. Al- Omar immediately for fear of infection setting in. He was scheduled within a week of the appointment for a robotic pyeloplasty and stent placement. It was not ideal as it was right as the pandemic began and being in a hospital was not the place anyone wanted to be but, it was necessary. We were reassured, had our questions answered as they came and truly received the best care . Dr. Al-Omar was comforting, reassuring and even showed us pictures of the repair after surgery. Yesterday, my son had his 1 year follow up post surgery and everything looked perfect. We could not be more thankful for Dr. Al-Omar and the entire WVU Hospital Staff. I highly recommend Dr. Al- Omar and his team. The Buck Family.

Dr. Al-Omar has been great at explaining and walking us through some complications our son is having. He has taken great care of him and our son is now thriving. Friendly, patient, and cautious.

Dr. Al-Omar truly has an amazing talent! He’s been my sons doctor since birth and the entire time he has been super thorough explaining everything from problems, to medications to procedures, testing, and any complications that may arise. During my sons surgery and stent removal he made sure my husband and I were always aware of what was going on. He checked on my son repeatedly during our hospital stay and did whatever he could to keep us at ease. He’s also friendly and we couldn’t be more grateful for him.

My son has a kidney disease and he was referred to Dr. Al-Omar for surgery. Dr. Al-Omar was simply amazing and put my mind at ease (as much as possible) when I was scared for my sons kidney surgery. He was great at keeping us updated during the 5-6 hour surgery. While in the hospital he regularly checked on my son. He has been amazing and the surgery helped my son tremendously. Al-Omar is a great doctor with amazing bed side manners, I would highly recommend him to anyone!!!

We were referred to Dr. Al-Omar by our son’s pediatrician for a concern she had. His offices was able to get us a consult within a month. He quickly informed us of our son’s need for a hypospadias repair surgery. He walked us through the procedure before as did many of his staff. They took wonderful care of our boy. His hypospadias repair even ended up being a little more extensive than initially thought, but he was able to correct it with ease. He came out of surgery and informed us of how the procedure went and how to care for our boy post op as soon as he finished. His office was able to easily be reached if we had questions. His post op was today and everything looks great! I would definitely trust Dr. Al-Omar and his staff again. I am very pleased with his work. I know that if I have any concerns about how the surgery continues to heal that he will be able to answer.

Dr. Al-Omar is amazing! I cannot tell you enough how thankful I am for this man! My son had stage 4 hydronephrosis, couldn’t gain wait, and was getting UTIs. Dr. Al-Omar did an amazing job and remained positive throughout the whole experience. Nothing is worse than having a sick infant! Having a great staff is what helped us through the rough time! I have dealt with many doctors, but none who will answer your questions, personally call you time and time again, and visit you to ensure everything is still okay.

Dr. Al-Omar did a wonderful job caring for my daughter and treating her hydronephrosis. Surgery went smoothly and he did an excellent job answering all of our questions.

Dr Al-Omar is the best. My son was in a horrible accident. If it wasn't for the knowledge and excellent care my son was given during his surgury and after care I do not know where we would be today. I will be forever grateful and thank God that he put such an awesome doctor in the care of my son!

Dr. Al-Omar is amazing! My oldest daughter had struggled with UTIs since she was a week old. We had been to several doctors and none could give a definite answer. After 9 years of struggling with this we found Dr. Al-Omar. My daughter had stage 3 kidney reflux. He did surgery and reimplanted her ureter. She is doing wonderful now! My youngest daughter had stage 1 reflux but with her sisters history, Dr. Al-Omar suggested we do the deflux surgery. she is doing great and does not have reflux!
