HERE is the kind of doctor he is: many years ago, I was fired from my job and left without medical insurance. After returning to America from living abroad, arriving VERY ill, I called his office, in desperation. Rather than dismiss me because I had no money to pay for an office visit, he personally got on the phone and told me to get down to his office asap. He saw me immediately and gave me a THOROUGH exam, at which point he diagnosed me as having DOUBLE PNEUMONIA. He ordered antibiotics, a steroid and put me on complete bed rest. When I told him that I didn't have any money to pay him for the office visit, much less the medications, he not only told me not to worry about paying him for the office visit, but he provided me the medications FREE OF CHARGE. He called to check on my progress every few days, until I made a full recovery. A year later, I was re-hired and my medical insurance reinstated. I returned to his office to finally pay him. HE REFUSED PAYMENT.

Dr. Hernandez is not on my insurance plan and I go to him anyway (and drive from Visalia) because he DOES listen to his patients! He's been very helpful and I fully disagree with the reviews indicating abuse of meds. He's helping me find options for my migraines that DON'T involve heavy meds like opioids or anything. I appreciate his time soent with me. The office could use a coat of paint and some new chairs and the atmosphere could stand to be friendlier in general, but once you get to know the staff, they're fine!

While the staff is decent enough, Dr. Hernandez is very unprofessional, does not listen to his patients, schedules multiple patients at the same time, is very condescending, won't do proper exam, dances around any question he's asked, has a God complex, walks out on his patients, and withholds medications that he has prescribed just because he has the "power" to do so.

Wish I could give zero. Office us filthy and old. Staff is awfully unprofessional. Doesn't care about his patients. Tries to cover problems with pain medications. Not trusted by any pharmacies in town. Has had multiple patients in critical condition due to laziness in treating the problem.

Dr Hernandez was evasive and condescending when answering questions. He referred to medication as "WD-40" for example. I felt rather disrespected on my initial visit and did not return.
