Great service, very knowledgeable and effective
I was dr Carney patient for the past +/- 10 years Every visit to his office was a positive experience. I think he is very knowledgeable and experienced. Luckily I never had anything serious or complicated just a few scares. Whatever the issue dr Carney was always able to identify and diagnose accurately and offer an effective treatment solution. His annual exam is meticulous and through.

Horrible experience. He doesn't believe the medication he prescribes can have symptoms listed on the packaging, so if you have them you are a special case or a teenager (yes, he said this). He spent a portion of the initial meeting explaining that there's no proof it causes these issues, then the beginning of the follow-up again explaining that it couldn't have caused it when I said it did. I explained the effect it had on my mental health causing him to be defensive and asking me to prove the relation. Denial is the best word for this man. I don't recommend him as a doctor unless you are in perfect mental health or willing to put up with a doctor that doesn't believe in symptoms. However, I do appreciate the quick response when i alerted the clinic of my symptoms, but I believe it was for his own pride rather than my health.

Visited Dr. P. Carney because of referral from friend. Very, very disappointed. Got stitches after a removal of mole-like growth. Stitches were poorly done, leaving a little gap in the middle of the wound, which got infected and had to take antibiotics. When stitches removed, the wound not fully closed. Expressed concern, but nurse very nonchalant and just sent me home. Wound came fully apart the next day, called nurse, and she said to book an appointment online to come in. Went to a different doctor at another Pinnacle location (in Crystal, MN), and she said the hole too big and susceptible to infection and had to REDO the whole entire procedure by re-cauterizing the wound site and then stitching it again. To top it all off, they charged me TWICE the amount to fix it than the original surgery and charged me extra for coming in post-surgery, so bill is three times more than expected. This whole experience has been super stressful and I regret ever going and getting it done.

This was one of the worst experiences with a doctor I have ever had in my entire life. Despite his lack of training in psychiatry and despite saying at the beginning of my appointment that I hadn’t seen a dermatologist in years because the last one shamed me for my OCD, he proceeded to spend the first half hour of our appointment lecturing me about how to handle my mental health. I had to raise my voice and threaten to walk out to get him to talk about my skin. Once we finally did, he was barely helpful. He didn’t take a biopsy despite me telling him a prior doctor had diagnosed me with a skin disease we could have detected that way. Instead, he acted ego bruised and weird about me putting my foot down about his unqualified psychiatry lecture. He also gave me bad, bad, creepy vibes. The way he tenderly brushed my hair away from my face made my skin crawl. Trust the 1 star reviews. There is something deeply off about this man.

13 years ago I was referred to Dr. Carney for severe psoriasis I had suffered with most of my life. He helped me more than any other dermatologist ever did. He is a kind, skilled, empathetic doctor. My skin looks better at age 60 than it did when I was 20 years old. Dr. Carney stays current with all the new drugs and therapies on the market. When a treatment stops working, we try something else. We never give up. On my 60th birthday I treated myself to several cosmetic procedures to treat brown spots, red spots, tiny bumps, and lines on my face. I turned out so well my husband made an appointment and had the same treatments done to his face so we could both look good. I highly recommend Dr. Carney and Pinnacle Dermatology.

Dr Carney is a great caring and knowledgeable doctor. My son suffers from psoriasis and no many of treatments prescribe by other physicians help. Dr Carney work and went above and beyond to get the right medicine for my son, when got it. Insurance were not covering due to his age (minor 17 yrs old). He contacted to fight for my son to get his medicine and helped us like no one did.

I have been going to Dr Carney for about 3 years now and would recommend him to anyone. He listens to what you say and finds the best option for you situation. He will even let you know what other services you would benefit from based on the conversation your are having with him and the current procedure you are in for. The staff is great and friendly. I have been to other places in the past and felt like a I was interrupting by making an appointment. Here I feel like they care (and they do). You have real connections with the staff and Dr Carney.

I went to Dr. Carney seeking treatment to get rid of a rash that had been around my eye for about half a year, and which my eye doctor was not able to properly diagnose or treat. Dr. Carney came into the patient room, took a look at the rash, and had a diagnosis for me within seconds. He prescribed a medication that got rid of my rash, and the rash has not returned despite the end of the treatment. I was impressed that Dr. Carney was able to recognize a rare condition for someone with my demographic, and he knew an easy treatment method that worked! He also had an excellent bedside manner; he seemed genuinely interested in helping me and patient as I asked follow-up questions. I definitely would recommend Dr. Carney for anyone who needs to be seen by a dermatologist in the Twin Cities.

I would highly recommend Dr. Carney to my family and friends. Dr. Carney and his staff are outstanding. They are very professional, competent, and efficient. They treated me very respectfully and informed me of all the details of my procedures to be performed. My appointments were a delightful experience as I had such positive interactions with his front desk staff, his support staff, and his medical team. The entire team was very compassionate and they were happy with their jobs!

Now I have my life back thanks to Dr. Carney. He's efficient, professional, extremely intelligent and treats me like a real person, not a number...Best Dr. I've ever had in my whole life.

I have been going to the Burnsville location for years since they first found a marking that had to be removed for possible skin cancer. They have have been very friendly and informative on my yearly checkups. This Winter I have been having cases of extreme itching and other doctors kept giving me prednisone and saying it was allergies. Nothing was helping. Then I saw Dr. Carney for the first time. I was seen immediately and he actually listened to my symptoms and help me more than I can say.

Dr Carney seen my daughter who was in first grade at the time . He was very rude and unprofessional in his dealing with us. He actually was yelling and throwing tools around the room and screaming at his nurses who were in a different room. We would NEVER refer nor would we ever go back. When he would leave the room, his staff was very polite and kept apologizing for his behavior. Patients beware of this "Doctor".
