Dr. Patrick Chen, DO

I was impressed with his evaluation of my over the counter medications and how I could have a better result if I followed his advice. I am looking forward to seeing Dr. Chen in the future. The staff were very professional and courteous.

I was extremely impressed and pleased with the entire staff, timeliness of service from front desk to discharge, BUT I was taken back when I asked Dr. Chen a question before my procedure and he gave me a blunt answer as though I didn't need to be asking that question though to me it pertained to my pain concern and my reason for being there. After the procedure I asked a question concerning my diet going forward and he said he did not have time to respond and he was sure someone there could give me a pamphlet to answer any questions I had. THIS WAS HIS ANSWER. As a patient I was a "procedure" and he was done with it ....and done with me. To him it was a job! To me it is my health! How dare I ask him a question! For the record, I AM NOT a" know it all" nor an aggressive or arrogant person so his replies were not justified. My experience went from good to bad rather quickly with his attitude which I can not condone. A bad day for him? No excuse! I expect better.

Dr. Chen was very professional in his explanation both before and after the procedure. He listened well and answered the questions I asked. The nursing staff could not have been better. Great people skills. Very kind and thorough in performing their duties!

I was in and out in a timely manner. The prep nurses were thorough, kind, and helpful. My IV insertion was painless. The gastroenterologist and anaesthesiologist stopped by to introduce themselves and confirm my medical information, as well as answer questions. They also followed up in the procedure room to reconfirm that everything was in order before putting me under. The colonoscopy and EGD went like clockwork, (I assume, since I was asleep and there were no aftereffects.) I would highly recommend Dr. Chen and Ohio Gastroenterology. One negative note: I woke with a scratched cornea that required medical attention. At some point under anaesthesia, my eye was badly abraded. Request that your eyes are protected during your procedure.
