My family doctor ordered an emergent CT scan upon finding out I was having severe headaches and they started suddenly. The CT showed I have Sphenoid sinusitis - a rare form of sinusitis that can be dangerous to the brain. She referred me to an ENT and I selected Dr. McLear because I had seen him many years ago for a collapsed ear drum. However, the triage unit at Dr. McLear’s office dismissed my condition as nothing needing immediate attention when I called for an appt. Having terrible headaches didn’t seem to matter. When I finally was seen by Dr. McLear, he said he would prescribe a stronger antibiotic and see me again in 12 days. The day before my next appt, a nurse called and said the doctor had decided to put me on another round of antibiotics and would wait another month and a half before seeing me. When he finally saw me again, a CT scan was done showing I still had the Sphenoid sinusitis but it had shrunk. The doctor said it would probably go away on its on and to call i

I am a 56 year old female and physically active, suffering with reoccurring sinus infections, allergies and asthma for the past 5 years. I kept being treated w/rounds of antibiotics and steroids by my family doctor and getting sicker. When I finally reached Dr. McLear, physically exhausted, weak and lethargic, he listened and scheduled a CT Scan of my sinuses. Come to find out, my entire sinus cavity was full of mucus and fungus. He wasted no time in scheduling me for surgery. He Took the time to walk me over to the scheduling department to make sure my surgery happened soon., he was patient and explained everything to me in depth . He took the time to answer all of my questions and assured me that everything was going to be OK. The entire process was something I was so afraid of, I’d never been put to sleep before. Dr. McClear and his office staff were competent, kind and detailed through the entire surgery and post surgery appointments. I am better today all because of Dr. McLear.

Husband saw Dr McClear at Patewood. 15 minutes late-went to wrong location. Lost our appointment. seen 2 hours later. Every time I asked front desk ?,Mary(mgr) came out upset. She threatened security and that dr could refuse to see him(this threat after 1 1/2 hr wait.) She told Dr pt swearing in the waiting rm. Husband swore once. I talked calmly. Dr McClear saw him finally, with an attitude. I’m in tears. Dr just says he sees pts every 10 minutes. And 4 days later, dr never sent meds to CVS

We began seeing Dr. McLear earlier this year after moving from out of state. My now teen son has had 3 sets of tubes in his ears and still had issues, along with a previous doctor who was resistant to do anything. Dr. McLear made us feel at ease immediately and was straightforward, listened, and, above all, gave us a plan for moving forward. It is such a relief to now have a doctor who listens and takes action. In addition, the office staff is very pleasant and efficient.

I hope my personal testimony helps someone in need of a MD that will not give up on them. That MD is Dr. McLear. After several years of seeing over a dozen medical experts,I was always given a diagnosis of stress or anxiety. No one ever really listened to me.By the Grace of God,Dr. McLear was on call during one of my many ER visits. I was loosing weight, fatigue, having trouble swallowing and speaking,etc.Nov.16th 2016,Dr McLear informed me that I had a brain tumor. I owe this doctor my life!

He is an extremely nice Dr., but he is terrible in diagnosing and helping patients beyond simple tonsile issues. He also appears to lack in every standard and knowledge base beyond a simplistic view of the Ear, Nose and Throat profession. You can look at web md and see he's very basic. I wouldn't suggest him to anyone.

Dr. McLear performed sinus surgery for me about 2 years ago. Best surgical experience I ever had. Minimal pain post surgery (lasted for about an hour). Didn't need pain killers at all. He discussed what he would be doing prior to surgery, and visited me post surgery to describe how it went and to answer any questions. He is thorough, precise, and extremely knowledgeable. His bedside manner is very good. He conveys a sense of confidence without being condescending in any manner.
