When first diagnosed with glaucoma more than 10 years ago, my optometrist referred me to Dr. Lama as the region's most skilled and respected ophthalmologist who specializes in the eye condition. He's all that and more. After my first meeting with Dr. Lama, he assured he would stand by me at every step in fighting the frightening disease. And he has. Dr. Lama employs a wide range of methods to keep ocular pressure at a safe level, from medication and laser treatment to surgery, which he performs at Clara Maass Medical Center. His Rochelle Park office is state-of-the-art, and his staff is helpful. I am extremely grateful to Dr.Lama for preserving my eyesight.

Amazing….top in his field .Anyone leaving a negative comment is fooling themselves.Dr. lama is totally thorough ,never in 12 years has he ever rushed an examination or left without going over everything. I have been to many Dr.s that misdiagnosed me , and others that fell short in their treatment .Which caused me to lose some vision ,my pressure was in the 50s . I've been a patient of Dr. Lama for more than 10 years. This is my fist review. Dr. Lama is by all accounts an accomplished glaucoma expert. I have great respect and trust in the depth and breadth of his knowledge and skill. His treatment plan for my open angle glaucoma has been conscientious and effective in arresting any progress of my disease. He is meticulous and focused during my regularly-scheduled exams, and I appreciate his thorough review and interpretation of his findings. He accommodates my questions and provides full and honest explanations. I'm also impressed with his up-to-date familiarity with glaucoma research and treatment techniques. Most recently, Dr. Lama performed cataract surgery on both eyes, with MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery). Thus far, the results have been successful beyond my expectations. Dr Lama is extremely renowned but he treats a patient with utmost care, concern, patience and respect. He is excellent at diagnosis. He takes a good deal of time doing the exam and also takes the time to explain everything to the patient. Such impressive bedside manners are rarely found in such well known and successful doctors. His staff is excellent too and waiting time in minimal.
