Dr Roberts and his staff are perhaps the most incompetent medical personnel I've ever encountered. Roberts is gruff, uncaring and offered no helpful or actionable items to pursue. He doesn't listen and talks over you. He had said to stop a psych medication while I know from experience you don't just stop taking a psych medicine - you must taper down on it. I called the office to speak with him about this - but have yet to hear back. Possible grounds for a malpractice lawsuit. The receptionist, when trying to read Robert's scribbled instructions asked us what the paper said and when he wanted us to come back. I wanted to scream at her - my mother has Alzheimer's! How the hell is she supposed to remember what Robert's said! A sham and a quack!

I've been a patient for probably 5 years and I have no complaints. I've gotten to know the staff, and they've been great and very kind. Dr. Roberts has been very helpful, and what he's prescribed has helped tremendously. When my daughter was younger and always with me, he always joked with her and made her laugh, and the staff was great with her too. Ive only waited excessively once, and that was because their was a patient having an emergency that they fit in before me. Id want them to do the same for me, so it doesn't bother me at all.

I am rating Dr Roberts on his ability to diagnose and treat problems that other doctors have overlooked. I am not rating the office staff like many of these posters seem to be doing. This Doctor is caring and professional and continues to help me manage my neurological issues. When my daughter was hospitalized with unusual symptoms that stumped the ER doctors for hours, it was Dr Roberts that quickly diagnosed the problem and began treating the brain swelling that everyone else that saw her had missed. Based on my experience with this doctor in the hospital when I needed a neurologist I chose him. I have no complaints about the doctor.

Did not have a problem with Dr. Roberts but his staff is rude and incompetent. They make appointments on the wrong days when he is not there then all but call you a liar. They are unorganized then they blame you for there mistakes this has happened twice for this reason we are changing neurologists. We have never been treated with such disrespect. Not sure about the above responses, but so far I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Paul J. Roberts in Sparta. I went to see him with VERY NUMB/ sensitive & tingling sensations in my feet (Diabetes?) and he did some testing and now we are moving forward to see what the cause could be. His receptionist Amy was friendly too. I will update as my process continues, but so far I like Dr. Roberts. He explained things to me clearly and concisely. The building is a little old, but who cares? Updates to follow...

Rude, uncaring, unprofessional staff. After countless unreturned calls regarding clinicals my insurance was requesting to have my monthly treatments approved, I fell into a relapse. In December I received a certified letter from Dr Roberts that he would no longer be my physician with no explanation. His receptionist told me "he's not going to call you back so stop trying" I've had a relapse and now I'm in the hospital. This is patient abandonment. Do not put yourself at risk with this doctor.

I would not recommend Dr Roberts or his office to anyone. The staff is rude, discusses patients within earshot of the waiting room (HIPAA) and were focused on the file room. The Dr is extremely inconsiderate of his patients and their time. We waited for one and 1/2 hours for our appointment before we chose to leave, taking our copay check with us. During the last 15 minutes of waiting, we watched the Dr close himself in his personal office not to be seen again while we were there.

Like Dr. Roberts have been seeing him for many years. His staff is another story, rude, unorganized. Get appointment dates wrong all the time and have to reschedule, call you up on the day of your appointment (when you took a day off of work to get there because they only work half days) and tell you they no longer take your insurance but another Dr. in their office does. When you try to reschedule with that Dr. they no longer do. Horrible, I will no longer go back. This is the Dover office.

Dr. Roberts was consulted to assess my mother who had been hospitalized after an episode of behavioral changes and confusion. Family asked for a neurologist to assess for possible brain injury. Dr. Roberts spent 5 minutes with my mother and left. No one can do a thorough neurological evaluation in five minutes. Ironically enough, it was my mother who called with the assist of a staff member to let me know how poor the evaluation had been.

I've never been motivated to respond to this kind of survey or any kind for that matter, unless I had something positive to offer.Unfortunately, i have to advise or better yet warn anyone considering visiting this practice in sparta nj, that i've never come across a doctors staff or any other who has been so generally unfriendly to me as a customer and patient.
