Dr. Paul Thielking, MD

In December 2023, I found out my baby boy Caspian no longer had a heart beat. I was sent to L&D Triage to deliver him. I was induced and ended up laboring much longer than needed. Around 3am, 12 hours into labor, exhausted and going through the hardest moment of my life, Dr. Thielking came on shift, and he asked if there was anything he could help with. I said “It’s getting close to the time to push. I just want to be prepared for what he will look like. I’m having bad anxiety. I found photos online of 15-17 week fetuses to prepare myself.” He responded “Oh! Don’t worry! Yours won’t look like that. You won’t even recognize him! He will just look like a big old blood clot!” As he smirked. I was stunned. He said “hope that helps!” And left the room. My sweet nurse had to then help me calm down from a massive panic attack. My baby boy ended up looking perfect. From his head, to his nose, to his toes. Shame on you for doing that to me. Thankful you were off by the time I delivered him!

Do not subject yourself to this man. His behavior is the definition of medical gaslighting. The article in the NYT should include his picture. He is not at all interested in what his patients have to say. He interrupts, is dismissive and has decided what is best for you without ever interacting with you. I guess if you are super thin, healthy, have no questions about your care and don't mind being ordered around he is the physician for you. Otherwise run, don't walk away from this man. I have seen him twice (a different physician at the practice is my primary) and he has been absolutely horrible to me both times, I have left in tears without any of my concerns addressed. Please, seek care somewhere else, trust me you will be better off for it.

I have seen him multiple times now and always dread it. He asks you if you have any questions only to dismiss them and say "he does t care about those questions unless it's x, y, and Z). Made me feel really uncomfortable one of the last times I saw him. I had mentioned sex with my husband and was bleeding afterwards And I was newly pregnant. He felt the need to say " you don't need to say you had sex with your husband, I don't care if it was a woman or a man, or whoever it was". I thought this was weird, he really read into the story. I only said it was a back story to my question, not because I felt uncomfortable about the gender of the person I was having sex with. Bottom line, very unprofessional doctor and rude. Seek literally anyone else out.

Rude, dismissive. Will not answer questions. Doesn't care about his patient's needs. Gave a diagnosis without an exam (and then gave exam). Received a second opinion a week later which proved Thielking incorrect.

Dr. Thielking is an excellent surgeon! He performed my total hysterectomy, I never experienced pain. Every step was throughly explained to me in person, via portal and phone.

Dr. Thielking is very thorough and honest. He makes sure to cover all bases and prioritizes your care and comfort. He will explain any problems in full detail and informas you of all your options. I have seen 3 different gynos and he is the only one I’ve feel has listened and adresse my concerns.

I thought Dr. Thielking was very informative and easy to talk to. He explained everything to me. Have me time for questions. He made me feel very co.fortable. I thoroughly enjoyed he and his staff. Everyone was very helpful.

He is the absolute worst. He was rude and he gave me information which I later found out to be wrong.
