Excellent surgeon, dreadful at dealing with humans
Working with Dr. McKenzie was one of the worst mistakes that ended up in years of therapy for birth trauma. I was told a complete fabrication, that my baby likely had Down's, in order to get me to agree to a c-section. She spoke to me like I was an annoying and ignorant child who was too stupid to understand anything. The 6 week postpartum checkup was horrible. I had severe PPD, anemia, could barely function, and she offered nothing but a smug once-over and I was dismissed. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that her surgical skills are excellent and she's very good at c-sections. At least I ended up with a barely visible scar, and a strong uterus that was able to VBAC next birth (with a different provider). A surgeon needs to realize that how you treat your patients and listen to their concerns is not just fluff - it has a major impact on their health and well-being for years to come.

Dr. McKenzie properly diagnosed me thirty or so years ago with fibroids. My subsequent operation, however, turned out to be much more complicated than could have been anticipated: I was in need of serious internal repairs for massive adhesions. The operation lasted four plus hours. To this day I am so very grateful for Dr. McKenzie's skills, meticulous attention, and for taking the time to take care of me so well. She completely resolved the problems I was having and I have been able to live a normal life since. As time went on I came to the realization of what she had done for me and I am gratefully in awe. Thank you, Dr. McKenzie!

I would recommend Dr. McKenzie 1000%. Not only is she the most thorough OBGYN I've ever seen in my 64 years and 3 states of residence, she is extremely thorough in all aspects of related and non related health issues! She is the only physician I have that I feel completely safe and secure dealing with and that includes my primary physician!!!!!!
