I would avoid this office, it’s a modern day pill mill. Patients are prescribed addicting prescription drugs and not monitored. If you or a loved became addicted to prescription drugs after being a patients of this office I suggest you contact Attorney John Richards in Santa Barbara. Unfortunately for me I only discovered how this office operates after the death of my child.

Have not met Dr Guimaraes but he must sign off on prescriptions and either he isn't doing this in a timely manner or isn't aware there are patients just waiting on his signature for days and days, experiencing withdrawal and not being responded to by his office. Needs to hire someone to actually respond to patients.

I suggest that this Dr.’s clients release their records and read them for themselves. I was shocked at the discrepancies in my words, and what was recorded as fact on my record. This was used to diagnose and ‘treat’ me. I was used as a guinea pig by this facility over time, as I became addicted to sedatives and also placed on various antidepressants with numerous side effects., with no good result Finally, I am free of these drugs, but the written damages will need to be sorted out in court. Enough! Who were they writing about? After my last visit, before my move, my diagnosis was changed without my knowledge. This was included with false statements regarding my childhood that I never made. I would most certainly recall stating something like that! How dare anyone say this about my parents! And had I not released those records, I never would have known…they would have just been passed along as fact to the next provider. There will be no next one Now I regret ever seeking out help.

He's a modern day drug pusher/scammer. No interest in patients, just prescribing as much medication as possible. "We have a new drug this week, let's have a 5 minute zoom call every month, so I can collect 60 copay each time." No thanks.

This practice is very dangerous. No notes are taken during office visits, Drug prescriptions are very loose. You may contact me for more information.

They have been consistently unprofessional and will string you along for the fees. Do not let them waste your time.

This Doctor mismanaged medications resulting in extremes in mental behavior.

I have recommended Dr. Guimaraes to many friends & colleagues since he has been in private practice. I worked (many yrs ago) with Dr. G in an outpatient clinic and considered him to be most thoughtful w/his clients. He was universally respected & liked. My children & I have been patients of his for many yrs now. We've received excellent care. He keeps up with the latest research, attends conferences all over the world in pursuit of any new research that will help him to best serve his clients.

Office is clean, staff is very nice and helpful. Calls to remind about appointments, and refilling of prescriptions are fast. Dr. and assistants do a great job listening and explaining types of treatments. I am always gun shy about new medications or taking more pills, but the combo he has me on has worked extremely well. All he did was make a few small tweaks. I would recommend to my family and friends.

If I could give minus stars I would. The day before my daughters initial appointment he cancelled. (Not for an emergency) Now my daughter is between counties and will be out of medication tomorrow. What a healer!

I met Dr. Guimaraes a few times between May 18 and May 22, 2015, while he participated in the annual meeting of APA i Toronto, On. At that time I struggled with serious crisis....! Hi attentively listened to my story and in the following few days he helped me to see my problem from entirely different perspective! He was able to start in me the amazing healing process, for which I am so grateful till these days! Now I am back to my normal life, and wish other people to be heal by him as well!
