I've been seeing Dr. Troya for several years and it's been a mixed experience. Staff at the Armenia office were curt more often than not. Staff at Wesley Chapel have been very nice and professional. Plan on extra time for your visit, he seems to always be running late. Dr. Troya is a very busy doctor and his "bedside manner" can be variable. Sometimes he's very attentive and sometimes he's obviously in a rush. He's given me no reason to doubt his clinical decisions though. Many of the issues you see about long waits for appointments, etc. in the negative reviews are due to the fact that there just aren't enough endocrinologists in the area. Several other doctors in the Tampa Bay area have told me they think highly of his expertise.

It’s incredible that a doctor’s office’s staff is not wearing masks. They are not social distancing at all. We’re all crammed in here side by side. I and my family members will not be coming back.

I was recommended by my family physician to see Dr. Troya in regards to the changes caused by a tumor. Since the moment he walked in the door, he made you feel comfortable, he listened and took the time to break things down and make you feel at ease about his care. Hard to find doctors with this approach and very happy he helped me stabilize and not lose hope. My whole family now goes to him.

The worst doctor of any type I have seen in my 57 years. I found him to be incompetent, insulting and misogynistic. In my 20 years of treatment for my hypothyroidism, he is the only doctor I've seen that doesn't do a hands-on exam to check for enlarged thyroid gland (a test where the doctor feels your neck and has you swallow, usually taking a few sips of water). In 4 visits with him, he sat completely at the other side of the large room and he was disinterested in how I was feeling. Horrible!

Dr Troya is an amazing doctor. He really listens and is there for me with my thyroid condition. His staff is just as amazing as him. I have never seen staff so friendly and caring about me. They actually care and thats nice to have when your going to a doctor. They are more like family then just a doctors office.

With such wonderful reviews was very disappointed that his next available appointment was 3 months away. Shared w the ‘gal’ that I was new to Tampa - with a doctor’s referral - and in desperate need ongoing care due to chronic condition / multiple endocrine disorder (MEN 1) w parathyroids already removed and ongoing pancreas and pituitary concerns. Still 3 months. Asked availability of other specialists in his practice who could see me... she very rudely said ‘same situation’ and that was it :(

As always, Dr. Troya in my opinion is extremely competent. Takes time to explain your blood tests to you so that you understand it. Friendly and not stand-offish. Very knowledgeble in so many areas that you feel you gained some insight into your condition with each visit. A perfect Doctor in my opinion. Always feel confident with our meetings. ,

Excellent, caring physician, very responsive to his patients. Have been seeing him since he established his practice. Two of his office staff members have been with him since then. He has done wonders to improve my thyroid problems. He personally likes to scan my gland with his ultrasound machine and is very good answering my questions. Dr. Troya also devotes a great deal of his time to teaching residents and fellows at USF which is a noble cause.

If you want a Dr. who treats you based on lab ranges then he's a good Dr.. If you want a Dr. who treats you based on symptoms, as an individual and not just lab ranges then he's not for you. Also, if you want desicated thyroid medication or t3 medication for your thyroid you can forget about it. The book "Stop the Thyroid Madness" explains a lot and it's to bad these Dr.'s are keeping people feeling like crap. At least have an open mind to let someone try something that might make them feel good

With 3x the normal amount of antibodies attacking ones thyroid. There should be some urgency in treatment. Not here!! First appointment He went to Dr Troya, take a cortisol test. Called his office to get results, a staff member called back to adv negative;I asked to confirm that he still had is 3/27 appt as he is not yet being treated, told yes. He goes to the office (he had to call as the bus cards have the wrong address in W. Chapel). Told he had no appointment till June! Office mgr useless!!
